Auto start xbmc in windows 8 when I turn on my tv. - tominhistower - 2014-08-26
This isn't so much an xbmc request but I was hoping someone would have knowledge of a windows workaround. I'm currently running a monitor on my desk for working but have a tv attached to the same windows 8 pc for xbmc awesomeness. I would like to start xbmc as soon as windows detects my tv is turned on. I've tried some 3rd party applications but they can't achieve this. Maybe someone on the forums has an answer or solution to my query. I know something happens because windows can automatically change resolutions, convert to mirror mode, etc. when the tv turns on. Maybe an autohotkey event could solve this but I'm not a real programmer of any sort. Thanks to anyone who replies!

My PC is set up to do this, it was easy to sort out. Google for auto start program for Windows 8. . Here is an answer that seems easy enough to follow: https://www.liberiangeek.net/2013/01/how-to-automatically-start-programs-in-windows-8/
