Cheap deal on Amazon - daveybhoy - 2014-08-29
Anyone think I'm mad to go for this as a base for my HTPC? Haven't got loads to spend, hence the attraction. No reviews but seems like a real bargain!

Its just a motherboard with cpu (AMD 4 CORES AT 1.3 GHZ PER CORE!) and 2gb ram with case. Its not cheap in the sllighest IMO.
you'll need to fork for hardrive. doesn't mention PSU. and since its a full x86 machine it'll consume alot of power, which means it'll cost you more to run per annum (also give of noise) and its huge.
Buy this instead

but unless you need one real quick, I would wait. Intel are expected to release the next line of NUCs so prices should come down further. but that would probably not be for 3 months. also you have lots of support for NUCs

Was not concerned about hard drive but did not consider no mention of PSU. Will probably wait a bit if you think prices will drop soon. Thanks for advice.
