Netflix and XBMC - JonSnow88 - 2014-08-30

Other than Android or windows based HTPC. Is there any way to get netflix, youtube, etc all in one box? My chromebox just came in and I know i can dual boot to get best of both worlds but if I install ubuntu or something will netflixs work?

PS the all in one solution is probably the Android TV, but would like something now.

How To Enable HTML5 Playback For Netflix On Ubuntu 14.04 Or 14.10

The above above requires the beta version 38 of chrome. Me I am patiently waiting for that version to become stable.

Another way is to use PipeLight.

That one uses Microsofts Silverlight to access Netflix.

Look at playon media server as a solution. Caveat is you have to have a dedicated windows machine running the server and it can do netflix and hulu amongst quite a few others to your xbmc.machine via upnp. More powerful the server machine the better it is. I use it with openelec. If you have a windows htpc, and playon is on the same machine, you can get netflix in hd. To do hd via client server route you have to use bubble upnp for proxy.

Works well. Not the most easy on the eye interface workaround but does work fine ..

I'm avoiding PayOn, would much rather dual boot.

Chrome OS has netflix.
