Hello, The Metadata Actors srcipt seems to be on it's way out and will be replaced by some new functionality included with the extended info script. I think this would be the way to go for future integration...however I do not personally use the Kodi native library so cannot actually test this very well. So hopefully someone out there will integrate this for the Kodi users and submit a pull request on my github page..the same answer applies for downloading artwork. (These reasons again highlight why using MediaBrowser is far superior as it handles artwork, actors, theme videos, theme music etc etc automatically and once done that artwork is available on any client - think iOS, openelec, roku, kodi etc)

The xbmb3c addon works very well, my videos/tv shows are also stored on a Synology NAS. Using MediaBrowser (now has a easy install for Mac server) I point this at my media directories and that is it! It then goes off and retrieves all artwork etc automatically and makes this available to any client.
What this means is you can install a brand new Kodi on any machine and using the xbmb3c addon to connect to MediaBrowser server you will have all your media with artwork/watched status etc straight away...never any more need to do things like scan artwork or search for tv tunes...this is all automatic. Start watching a movie/tv show in Kodi then pick up from exactly where you were on the Roku or iOS.

To me Kodi + MediaBrowser (with XBMB3C (by the way we are changing the name of that soon) in the middle) is the perfect marriage.

Thanks for the update. Glad to see the Photos-section is back. However there seems to be a bug with the photo-widget. First of all it's mixed up with the channels-widget (if I set the photo-widgets it is showing up under channels). Secondly the widget in the photo-section does not show anything at all (for me). And third: The name of the first tile in the photo-section cannot be changed. I have to say that I am not using media-browser.

Btw: Instead of a widget I would prefer to have a dia-show (of a custom folder with pictures) in the photo-section. Is that possible? And when I click on it should start the show in fullscreen-mode :-)

For users not using MediaBrowser you need to set the Pictures directory in the skin settings...did you do this and it is still not showing? It is really supposed to be working that way now..if for example you are using MediaBrowser the widget cycles all the photos in your library and allows you to view them fullscreen when clicking...that is what should also happen for Kodi Library users that have set there pictures directory in the skin settings (but as I said I did not test that part). It does for sure though allow fullscreen on the other widgets such as Cyanide Happiness, Daily Babes etc.

Hi,

I cannot help there I am afraid, if you have Helix on your Amazon Fire TV then all you would need to do was install the skin from the repo linked on the first post.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply im85288. I've tried installing the repo add-on from zip file the but every time I try to do so I get the error "Add-on does not have the correct structure". I'm new to XBMC/Kodi so maybe I've done something wrong Confused

Have been trying various things for the last 2 hours to get it to install but no luck. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

EDIT: Don't worry, I finally found a fix. It appears Safari on the Mac automatically unzipped the file upon download, which I then had to re-zip and upload to the Fire TV. That messed up the zip file as it apparently adds a hidden file to the zip.

Loving the style and sleekness of this skin, it's exactly what i'm looking for in terms of UI design. However, there's some issues i've come across and am not sure if you're aware or not.

It seems like there is a shadowing set of UI elements being mirrored behind as you can see in these screenshots:

thanks for your reply. Just received another update of your skin and now the bug (mixed-up settings for channels- and photo-widgets) seems gone. Also it does not show the widgets for BBC, Youtube etc. anymore under "photo-widgets", but only photo-related stuff. However, I cannot specify a path for the photos to be displayed. Seems it's currently linked to a path or a database of media-browser.

Ah, and btw: If you link the first button of the photo-section to a different addon it's working and it is showing the corrrect icon of that addon, but it is always displaying the wrong name.

It would be good channels, show our subscriptions on youtube. For example even choose a youtube channel to show or all the same ... But it would be great to show our youtube subscriptions.

This setup is on a Raspberry Pi so i am not expecting miracles.

I am running the latest beta build of Kodi (14.0-BETA5) + Mediacentre + XBMB3C + 1080XF MB3.

The menu's flow perfectly and the general usage is smooth as a pc. Seek times into my movie database are a little slow but that is to be expected. Is there anyway to pre-cache and hold all the images and artwork/metadata on the sd card? I have an 8GB and seems pointless not utilising the space. Currently all it is doing is storing the os. My logic is that if all the required data, barring the actual media files are stored here then the whole browse and display would be faster??

I'm running off an wifi adapter at the moment so that isnt going to help speeds much so I need to get this tested on wired.

The skin is perfect but......

Movies -> I guess this is just a counter and not a button? (nothing showing on the pi)
Video Add-ons -> Too many button pushes to get to my media, can I not just click this and go directly to my movies list?
New Movies Widget -> Blank

I think this is fixed in version 3.0.79 there was a few bugs in there with the music section.
