Car computer volume control? - matthewadams - 2014-10-12 NB: Rpi newbie, but experienced software developer. I'm putting together a Raspbmc car computer. My goal is to have a full car stereo replacement on the cheap, complete with fm tuner, hd radio tuner, and hands-free bluetooth capability. I will not have the Rpi in addition to my car stereo; it will be in place of my car stereo. I've got a working raspbmc-based rpi working fine so far (hooked up to my home a/v receiver via HDMI for testing), and I've got an HDMI splitter with separate audio (see http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KHGK29Q) on the way. My plan is to run the RCA out of the splitter to a conventional car amplifier, which will drive my speakers, of course. How will I control the volume? At home, I obviously use my A/V receiver's volume control. What will I use in the car? Thanks, Matthew RE: Car computer volume control? - matthewadams - 2014-10-13 Answered my own question (with some help from crutchfield.com). Preamps like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EUF4YNK will do the job. |
