[Linux] USB keyboard lost when changing output to HDMI - gyroland - 2014-12-30

Hi, I've been running XBMC without problem with the following setup:
Ubuntu 14.04, and starting XBMC on a secondary TV set connected via HDMI.

After upgrading to Kodi today, when i change to the TV, i cannot control KODI through any USB keyboard. Unfortunately, the solution i use for remote control (FLIRC), is simulating an USB keyboard...
Control still works through mouse though.

When launching KODI from console, it seem like the keypresses go to the underlying console instead of the application.

Any help appreciated.

Ok, i found the reason. It seems Kodi now cannot handle multi monitor setup as separate X displays in xorg.conf.
Went back to default X settings and now it works.
My only gripe is that for some reason kodi starts in the back, behind unity launcher, so i have to alt-tab to it to go real full screen.
