Brutal Buffering - theredguy - 2015-01-12

I've just set up Live TV on Kodi with NextPVR and my Haupage/Boxee HVR-950q.

Things work pretty ok in NextPVR itself. Starting Live TV and switching channels takes about 5-10 seconds. I wish that was faster, but at least once I get onto a channel, it plays perfectly.

In Kodi when I start a channel it keeps pausing every 5-10 seconds for for a few seconds to do buffering.

Any ideas what this is about? What I can do to get continuous playback?

I don't know. Are you on a wireless client? Some ATSC channels are pretty high bitrate. Does an SD channel vs a HD channel make any difference?

Did you tried the following inside your advancedsettings.xml?
Quote:<pvr>
<minvideocachelevel>40</minvideocachelevel>
<minaudiocachelevel>40</minaudiocachelevel>
</pvr>

Worked for me.

In the NextPVR addon settings, make sure you have timeshifting enabled.

That seems to have done the trick, thanks.
