- Bob___ - 2008-10-13 11:03 And what do you want to search for? For example "DSCF0580.jpg"? That doesn't make sense, right? - Andydigital - 2008-10-13 11:19 Bob___ Wrote:And what do you want to search for? For example "DSCF0580.jpg"? That doesn't make sense, right? The OP may have given all the pictures names!!
- FRS-FL - 2008-10-13 12:16 Thats right, I rename all the picture, befor I add them to the database! - Bob___ - 2008-10-13 12:50 And in which kind of format or syntax do you rename your pictures? Do you use a self-speaking name or something like that -> "Picture_1_nice_girl_beach_sun_ocean_cocktail.jpg" Because for a search-function it is necessary to find key-words in the file-name. - FRS-FL - 2008-10-13 13:49 I've got a UPNP Server. (MediaTomb) MediaTomb have a database sorted by EXIF keywords. example screen: http://upload.nico-s1n.de/xbmc1.jpg Here you can see the sorted database. These keywords came from the EXIF keywords. For example the keyword "AFAG" http://upload.nico-s1n.de/xbmc2.jpg Here you can see all the picture, which have the EXIF keyword "AFAG". In the future there are many more picture. This is only a test run. But if there so many pictures, and i search a special picture, i can't find that so fast. Now I want to search and write the first letter of the picturename. Now XBMC must shows me only the pictures, which starts with the letter. Do you understand what I mean? Or is my english so bad for that? ![]() Yours sincerely FRS-FL - steve1977 - 2008-10-26 06:19 Atramhasis Wrote:Oh, there is new wind! Can we hope? Anyone knows whether there are any news around this? Topic is hotter than ever given XBMC for ATV working out so well now!!! Thanks a million in advance. Cheers!!! - steve1977 - 2008-12-07 18:17 Sorry for pushing this thread up again. Any news on this? Still any development? Does XBMC utilize picture tags? - recoil - 2009-01-18 06:19 XBMC's Music Library obviously takes full advantage of MP3 tags. But does XBMX take advantage of picture tags for the Photo Library? Picture tags are becoming more and more useful, and more and more people are using them. Title, Comments, Tags are all available to be added to most picture file formats. Does the Atlantis build of XBMC take advantage of these? If not, are there plans to for a future release? Thanks - jmarshall - 2009-01-18 07:41 There is no photo library. But yes, it will show ExifInfo - there's a picture info dialog for instance available from the context menu, and all these are also available within the lists from the skin. Add me to the list - worldstomp - 2009-02-01 09:17 Hi all. I'm brand new to XBMC (this is my first post). I've been a long time HTPC user, through. Started with MyHTPC, Meedio, SageTV, Windows Media Center... and now XBMC!!! It is awesome. I'm very impressed so far. However, tag-based picture browsing is the killer missing feature for me personally. I have thousands of photos meticulously tagged and rated (IPTC/XMP metadata embedded in files). Photoshop elements actually loads a plugin into Windows Media Center that allows tag & album based browsing, but the User Interface is crap. Getting this functionality in XBMC with a slick UI would be HTPC nirvana for me! The ultimate use-case would be to select a tag or tag-combination & start a slideshow. Then, as you're viewing each photo, a menu button would show you other tags for that photo, and allow you pick one of the new tags to start a new slideshow (think... if you like this photo, here's some more like it) Obviously, this would require creating a Database for the photos, and scanning the photos for metadata to populate it. This would be a powerful feature, though |
