If you don't already have a TV tuner that's capable of picking up the programme (e.g. if it's on terrestrial or satellite, particularly if it's likely to be a pay TV stream and thus encrypted), you're setting yourself one hell of a challenge in a few hours... the fight you'd have setting it up in time would far overshadow anything in Vegas later...
Broadly, you need a system to house the backend PVR software, and one or more tuners connected to that. Read this link (PVR (wiki)) and you'll get a feeling for what's involved...
