SMB stopped working after upgrading PC to Windows 10 - Knocks - 2015-08-03 I have been using Kodi on Amazon Fire TV and streaming media from a Windows 8 PC for over a year. Last week, I upgraded my PC to WIndows 10, and Kodi can now no longer access SMB shares from the PC. It keeps asking for a username and password, even though the directory is shared with "Everyone" and I never used any passwords before. RE: SMB stopped working after upgrading PC to Windows 10 - Goooobertron - 2015-08-03 I had this problem too. Check your network sharing options as I believe there is an option you can select that disables the need for a user/password when accessing shared folders. Also use SPMC instead of Kodi RE: SMB stopped working after upgrading PC to Windows 10 - Knocks - 2015-08-04 Thanks, changing that setting fixed the problem! As for SMPC, I don't want to open a Google Plus account, and without Google Plus only older builds are available on Google Play.
