using the latest pliJade image and the June 2008 CVS build Huh? I am getting artifacts and choppy sound and then it quits. It seems like it once was working but now is lost.

Dbox2TV python script is the only thing that I can get working.

x2 DM500 and x2 xbox on the network. What do I need to do. What do I need to test.

I have everything "appearing" through the video menu but once selected, choppy and distortion. web-x-tv works fine. VLC on pc direct works fine. DBOX2TV from Xbox works fine. this does not.

HELP!

I used have that problem when running Gemeni images on my DM600. Since Pli images are much better I switched to it instead. Now I can't get it to work at all.

"Zap to stream failed" or something like that.

Honestly I have never managed to make this working.

makes me feel a bit better now that I know it is not just my setup.

I have updated one of my boxes to the latest xbmc Atlantis alpha builds - 15576 - and this is still broken in this version. Sounds like this may be permanently broken for the release of XBMC.

If I only knew how DBox2TV python script was opening this stream up it would be possible to mimic this into the xbmc code... I'm also going to try to hunt a version of XBMC that DOES work.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks!

Just fixed some streaming issues on enigma based devices in revision 15653. This will (hopefully) also fix the annoying choppy sound and artifacts while streaming. Would be nice if you guys could test this and report back if it`s also fixed for you.

Note: Dm500 users will most likely still have problems due to the crappy network performance of this box.

Hopefully fixed in revision 15653. See http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=23834&page=20

15653? I am going to get it, compile it and report back ASAP.

Another note. I've modified both of my DM500 boxes for better network capability by replacing 1 capacitor and mounting 2 caps on top of some existing ones. Schematics and diagrams available for those interested. (this is for those DM500s that Web-X-Tv does not even work for)

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS DOWNLOAD! I just started it and it seems like the longest dang download EVER!

Thanks so much in advance for the post.

build 15666 fail - CopyCounsler - 2008-09-24

I have thrown everything I can think of at it to try to alleviate the pixelization. It seems to be much friendlier with the sound, but does the same thing. It will fire up and then quit after some pixelization and distorted sound.

here's a small div-x to show what it does: tuxclient.dm500-xbox-fail.avi

The video shows that the tuxclient will retrieve a bouquet just fine. I clicked on a channel twice in the vid.

any thoughts? build 15666.

Thanks!

I'll need to have a full debug log to see whats wrong there. Please upload it to pastebin.com or similar services.

I appreciate all your help, VDRfan. I will do everything I can to provide you with the tools you need to fix this.

http://pastebin.com/m72a4ae5a

This first one shows me turning on the box, clicking video, clicking the link I set up for the DM500, then selecting a bouquet, then selecting a channel. Then the first time it looks like it didn't connect properly or something. So I let it sit while I check the DM500. Everything is ok so I click the channel again. Success - I mean the channel comes up garbled. ANd the sound is garbled. And it lasts for a bit longer than average - about 10 seconds.

This second one: http://pastebin.com/f7522a2c7 is the Dbox2TV script successfully sending down a stream from the same channel for about 20 seconds. Then I halt it and exit the script.

I hope that helps. Let me know what I need to do next.

This post seems to have some relevance too: dreambox-fan forum

Thanks again!

Jep, the default streamts binary isn't working very well on DM500 i think.
Please test again using DVDPlayer instead of MPlayer. If you got the chance, replace your existing streamts binary with the "fixed" one.

Please provide logs for each test you've taken Smile

EDIT: what streamurl is used if you try to open via webif?

EDIT #2: You will have to replace your existing TuxBoxUtil.cpp to benefit from the latest changes as it is not yet merged to trunk. (http://trac.xbmc.org/browser/branches/linuxport/XBMC/xbmc/utils/TuxBoxUtil.cpp?rev=15653)

The PLI image I use has an option for a newer ZAPSTREAM replacement for STREAMTS which I have enabled. Details here: zapstream

How do I use DVDPlayer instead of MPlayer? I select this from the video menu as a channel?

The Web-X-Tv which opens a vlc active-x object in a browser (which works on any pc on my network) has a huge array of locations which appears to send to the VLC object. I can copy this out if needed.

Oh right. Once I am home I will check the xbox out again with the new build that I just generated. I didn't even think about that!!!

Thanks for the QUICK responses! You'll have to pm me your paypal so I can buy you some beer.

Use the context menu on a channel and select "Play with .." (or similar)
