OK.. I guess I am doing something horibly wrong and I hope someone over here can point me to it.

I have installed XBMC (Smooth Video branch) on my HTPC (Quadcore AMD Phenom, 2 GB, Geforce 8300) with Vista 32bit and on my dreambox 7000, I am running PLI Jade2 (enigma1)

In the video section of XBMC, I add a location in the folowing format:

tuxbox://root:[email protected]:80

After this, XBMC will return to me, saying it can't connect to that location. I am allowed to add it anyway, but that doesn't help.
Does this function also work on the "normal" XBMC, or only on this T3CH branch?

Thanks,

TFH

P.S.
Sorry for posting in the xbox section, while I run on Vista. But I guess this option should work in both versions and this was the most recent thread I could find.

All platforms are the same concerning this....

It works on my Windows based XBMC also. You might want to try a slash at the end, but not sure if that is needed.

What happens if you open http://192.168.1.100 in a browser?

Also I think you have to enable TS streams somewhere in the config of your dreambox. At least that was needed with my Nokia dbox2 running a Powerboard release.

If I go to http://192.168.1.100 I get the PLi Jade2 web interface.

Then the IP is definitely right and you can make a connection. The port is also 80? I've seen 8080 also in this thread.

Does your image have something like WEB-X TV or some other form of live streaming tv in your browser? That should work first. If it doesn't make sure your box is in SPTS mode.

If you do not need to login to the web interface you can probably remove the root:dreambox@ part.

tuxbox://192.168.1.100:80/

Other than that I can't think of anything at the moment. Good luck!

Found this on the PLi wiki: http://www.pli-images.org/modules/wiki/index.php?wakka=GenericStream

Try getting that to work first and then try using XBMC.

Because of the current bug in the Xbox version, I just added all stream URLs that I want to watch by hand. Make a text file for each channel and paste the stream url in there. Save it as .m3u and then put them to a folder called TV or SAT. Then you can change channels pretty easy too.

Works for me for the moment.

Hi guys,

Streaming through the WEB X TV works fine, so that is not the problem,. Also the re-stream (http://www.m4rtin.nl/re-stream/) works pretty fine. So that is not the issue.
The webserver is running at port 80, and the login/password (root/dreambox) are needed to access this webserver. So that all seems to be fine.

If I leave out the last "/", XBMC will automaticly add it.

Hoping that someone else has a magical idea Smile

Thanks for all your support!

OK.. Problem solved thanks to someone on IRC.
I wass adding the above mentioned URL in it's completeness, but just adding a network location, also give the option: tuxbox, where you can fill in the credentials.
This works a lot better. I am watching TV through my XBMC now.
It's not very fast, but... it's stable and the image quality is fine (better then from my DM7000)

Thanks for thinking with me Wink

Just one last thing: Right now, buffering a channel takes about 8 - 10 seconds. Can this be speeded up in some way?

- TFHfony - 2009-03-31

I am running this nice feature on my Vista Win32 system, to watch my DM7000. It's a great way to upscale the DM7000 signal. I was wondering 2 things:

1. Can I change the audio channel?
2. Can I zap, without having going back to the bouquet list?

Thanks,

TFH

Tuxbox limitations streaming from Dreambox - kemik - 2009-04-09

I've been running live streams from my Dreambox 800HD for the last few weeks which has been working brilliantly but only had a limited amount of channels, bouquets due to only having a single non motorised dish

Just upgraded my setup to have two dishes and because I have a dual lnb on one dish can now pick up 3 satellites and of course the channel and bouquet count has now increased dramatically.

However, when I now choose the tuxbox live streams from XBMC it now takes an age for the status bar to reach the right hand side and when it gets there it just sits doing nothing at all and XBMC seems to freeze for example the remote control no longer works and I have to hard reboot.

So my question is what if any are the limitations to this feature. Should I keep within x number of channels or x number of bouquets? is there any documentation that might help me 'tune' my channel/bouquet lists to get this to work again please?

or is this even something that I need to change on the Dreambox image somewhere? It would be nice if I could have a full channel list on my Dreambox but only choose a 'cutdown' list for streaming from my XBMC that would be the ideal situation

Thanks

Well...
Using "XBMC-SVN_2009-04-04_rev19213-T3CH-9.04-ALPHA1" build.

The TuxBox seems to work now much better than with the previous version (DB 7025 GP2 v3.8), but small issue still remains..

If a channel has "alternative" channel pointed out, this does not stream.
No go =
Code:
#SERVICE 1:134:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:FROM BOUQUET "alternatives.yle_tv1.tv" ORDER BY bouquet

Yes =
Code:
#SERVICE 1:0:1:111:5001:20F6:EEEE0000:0:0:0:

To GET:
Quote:http://IP_of_your_box/web/getservices?sRef=1:7:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:FROM BOUQUET "userbouquet.favourites.tv" ORDER BY bouquet
replace all spaces with %20 and the " with %22):

- realjobe - 2009-04-13

? Seems to be working with "XBMC_19438". sort of.

Now the "alternative" channels work ok with Mplayer, but DVDplayer does not work with all channelles. This is needed for the subtitles change...
