Edit:

Hi there!

I installed this addon and now I want to uninstall it, but I cant find where to do that. Under video - addons - Dreambox ... I dont have uninstall as an option. And I cant find it anywhere under system - addons.

Any suggestions?

did you do something special? every time I try it quits directly at the startup with an error Sad

hi there this add-on is fantastic.... is there any chance that we get the EPG visible and change channel with apple remote control without going back every time to the bouquets ?

No It didnt work on my ATV (using DM600, enigma 1), and I just want to uninstall it (earlier post).

Had to edit the py file and change the ip address to correspond to my dreambox and save.
Works a treat
Once the channels have loaded up and you have selected the channel to play you can then turn off the subtitles and even change the audio stream by holding down the centre button on the apple remote until the options come up at the bottom of the screen,
This is working amazing on my apple tv2 and my first generation apple tv

Thought i would post this info in the hope it helps someone else

Hi,

I unziped the file, put in xbmc/addons, then edited the settings file to ipdream, user and pass. Go to xbmc and videos addons/dreambox, choose television and i have the error: Script failed: plugin.video.dreambox Iam running xbmc on windows7
Here is my settings:

<category label=ՇeneralԾ
<setting id="192.168.1.122" type="text" label="30000" default="192.168.1.122"/>
<setting id="root" type="text" label="30001" default="root"/>
<setting id="dreambox" type="text" label="30002" default="dreambox"/>
<setting id="setstandby" type="bool" label="30003" default="true" />
</category>

Hi,

You should not edit the file manually.
In XBMC, go to Settings, addons, browse to the DreamboxPlugin, select settings, there you can edit the address/user/pass.
The plugin only supports Enigma2 boxes, like dm800/dm500HD, not DM500, DM600.
If you run on a custom port(not port 80), you should enter ipadress:port in the settings menu(ex 192.168.0.1:82).
Make sure you are running the latest version of XBMC.

Best Regards,
Rehnmark

How great would it be if the enigma2 channels could be incorporated into the tv guide section of xbmc gui along with epg, picon etc.

Is this even possible? or has this been asked before ?

Script failed - gkkp - 2012-02-11

hi there,
the plugin seems to start ok, shows tv channels and all the picons, but when I select a channel the plugin throws an error.
This is what the logfile says:

Code:

Any idea how to solve this?

Thanks - Gé

gkkp Wrote:.....Any idea how to solve this?

my (own) solution in dreambox.py would be to change line 231:

Code:
picondir = os.getcwd() + "\\Picons\\"

to

Code:
picondir = os.getcwd().decode('windows-1252') + "\\Picons\\"

It works, but I'm not a python specialist...

and perhaps change resources/settings.xml to

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<settings>
    <category label=”General”>
     <setting id="ipaddress" type="text" label="30000" default="192.168.1.88"/>
     <setting id="username" type="text" label="30001" default="root"/>
     <setting id="password" type="text" label="30002" default="dreambox"/>
     <setting id="moviedir" type="text" label="30003" default="/hdd/movie/" />
     <setting id="sep" type="sep" label="" default="" />
     <setting id="setstandby" type="bool" label="30004" default="true" />
    </category>
</settings>

and resources/language/english/strings.xml to
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<strings>
    <string id="1">Television</string>
    <string id="2">Radio</string>
    <string id="3">Movies</string>
    <string id="30000">Dreambox IP address</string>
    <string id="30001">Dreambox username</string>
    <string id="30002">Dreambox password</string>
    <string id="30003">Dreambox default movie location</string>
    <string id="30004">Set Dreambox in standby</string>
</strings>

and Dreambox.py, "def __init__" to

Code:
def __init__(self, handle):
        self.handle = handle
        self.ipaddress = self.__settings__.getSetting("ipaddress")
        self.username = self.__settings__.getSetting("username")
        self.password = self.__settings__.getSetting("password")
        self.setstandby = self.__settings__.getSetting("setstandby")
        self.moviedir = self.__settings__.getSetting("moviedir")

        password_mgr = urllib2.HTTPPasswordMgrWithDefaultRealm()
        dreambox_url = "http://" + self.ipaddress
        password_mgr.add_password(None, dreambox_url, self.username, self.password)

        handler = urllib2.HTTPBasicAuthHandler(password_mgr)
        opener = urllib2.build_opener(handler)
        urllib2.install_opener(opener)

and Dreambox.py, start of "readmovies(self)" to
Code:
    def readmovies(self):
        data = urllib2.urlopen("http://" + self.ipaddress + "/web/movielist?dirname=" + self.moviedir)
        e2movielist = xml.dom.minidom.parse(data)
        data.close()

This would allow you to define an alternative path to the default movie location.

Hope this helps...

It would be very nice if subtitle plugin can read EPG, name of the movie so we can use subtitle player on enigma2 plugin Smile
