Fire Tv No Sound - BSullivan72 - 2015-09-11
I am new here so I hope I am doing this in the right place. I am in tears. I have been looking for so long for a fix to my problem. I installed Kodi on my fire tv and now my Tv has no sound. I have googled and tried so many things. I can't fix this and I don't want to uninstall Kodi. I wanna keep it. Someone please tell me there is a fix for this. I made sure the settings in my tv and My fire box were on the correct settings. If anyone can help me PLEASE do so.
Can't take much more. I am a problem solver so I have been at this for a long time and came up with nothing. Thanks

Nothing on the fire tv has sound and kodi has no sound. SInce i'm a cord cutter I can't check regular tv.

Play a youtube video, press "Select" then scroll right to the Audio setting (the speaker icon) make sure your volume is at 0.0dB and the volume amplification is midway.

Ok I did that and nothing. Also when I play my netflix, youtube or hulu on my firetv I have no sound on anything NOT KODI. Still no sound on kodi either. I put an antenna on my tv and I switched over to TV and I had sound.

Just saw the youtube thing. I am on it now and there is no speaker icon. I'm on a tv not a laptop.

Sorry to state the obvious, but it takes like 5 minutes to install Kodi on the AFTV. Surely if's worth uninstalling just to check if Kodi really is the problem and it's not something as simple as a broke HDMI cable. You can always reinstall afterwards.

It is Kodi. I have seen hundreds of people looking for a fix for this problem. I meant i didn't want to have to uninstall and wait for a kodi to update with a fix. But thanks for the info.

Well, we'll just have to disagree then. I've got Kodi on AFTV and it works perfectly. All the sound I can handle. But if you're that sure I'll leave you to your tears.

Nope, never had a problem. Got the Fire TV, got adbFire, downloaded Kodi from http://kodi.tv/download/ and sideloaded using adbFire. Initially I was on Helix and have gone through upgrades to Isengard and currently on 15.2 testing. All worked fine.
If you really want to find out what's wrong it seems to me that you have to eliminate possible causes. From what little we know of your set up the possible faults seem to be the hardware, a conflict of packages or the download of Kodi you have installed. The only way really to isolate it is to start testing what works, hence the suggestion to remove Kodi to see if Netflix, etc, start working properly again. But, it doesn't help much to just say it must be Kodi, because there are lots of us for who it is working perfectly.
