Smokehead, is it possible you could re-design the Media Info window when playing a video? It's too big for my taste. Sometimes I just bring up that window to see how much time left for a video, but it blocks the most important middle part of a video. I like the old Media Info at the bottom of the screen.

I know you're match this info window with the Now Playing Window for music files. But that window just blocks the visualization, no big deal.

Thank you for your hard work on this skin. It's getting close to perfection every build.

Thanks M.D., I'll try that.

Anyhow for you problem, you can bring the time elapsed/remaining bar that does not interfere with the video by pressing Menu on the remote.

I was using Clearity today and saw that the font named test is still an option under the list of fonts even though it was renamed to comic. So it needs to be removed in the font.xml. Also just wanted to say how awesome this skin really is.

Thanks LRa. Pressing Menu botton only brings up the control panel, but doesn't display time only when I press Pause. If I'm mistaken, let me know.

Anyway, it's not only about displaying time when I want to bring up the Media Info window. I think any OSD shouldn't block the video too much.

I suggest adding at least 70% of transparency on all video OSD's background. A total transparent OSD background with customized font colors matching subtitle colors (I think there are at least 4 colors to choose from XBMC) will be even better. But I guess that's maybe an XBMC issue rather than Clearity's.

Smokehead, thanks for the great work.

M.D. you're right, only pause bring it up. Anyhow you can edit the keymap file to a command to display the bar and hide it. That's what I've done. When playing full screen video, the info button acts as subtitles on/off.

It seems as if memory usage has improved with the most recent build (revision 402). i've got 19mb free running clearity now.

i don't know what was changed, but well done fixing what was an impediment to people running 1080i.

Been trying a few backgrounds (this one from DeviantArt)
and it seem that as long as something is happening in the bottom left the home screen seems a little more complete. I also changed the Background2.png as I am not too keen on the TRON style ciruitry, it just doesn't seem to sit right with the clean/minimalist look that the rest of the skin has. Just a few ideas really...

Image

Also added artists name to wraplist as it really is useful when scanning through a big library. I know its already there on one of the wraplists but I like the smaller one best. Alot of people like the idea of having the artist name above the picture (as did I, so thats how I first tried it), but it's just not a natural way to read something... I thought it was uncomfortable having to constantly look up and down whilst quick scanning through the wraplist... Again just and idea.. there is still room for the media information...

Image

Finally I dropped the Artist prefix from the now playing window to make a little more room for the name... I found that in PAL 4:3 a few longer names were chopped...

Thanks again smokehead for this great skin..... :-)

So did you just remove the background2.png or did you replace it with another transparent .png? I am in love with this skin but the circuitry background has never really exited me. If I can just get rid of the background2.png that would be great...

Thanks,

- MajorTom - 2007-02-06

I replaced it with a semi-transparent straight line just to close the tops of the tabs off (it's slightly out of line looking at my screen shots..lol... but its unoticable on my TV.)

- tickehead - 2007-02-06

Would it be possible for you to share that .png with me? I have zero graphics skills... If not, thats cool...

Thanks!

- bronco28 - 2007-02-06

Major - would you be willing to share the code for adding the Artist Name in the wraplists? Thanks.

- Rand Al Thor - 2007-02-06

MajorTom - I too would like a copy of that .png if you are willing to share. Also, this might be strange to ask but does anyone think this skin might be a little too....Blue? Can we maybe get some other colors? I like good old black myself Wink
