Bruut Wrote:Hi.

As you can see by my number of posts I am new here. However, I've been reading this forum for a while now so I am not a complete newbie.

I have a problem though and and can't figure out how to fix it:

I am running Ubuntu Karmic (9.10) with the latest RC1 XBMC. Everything works fine; playing music, playing video's, scraping info from the internet and even the youtube-plugin works correctly.
When I try this amazing sounding UZG plugin (being dutch, this is a must have) it just does not work.

As plugin: I can browse as far as the channel selection, and not matter what channel I select (ned 1, rtl, veronica, tried m all) XBMC crashes without an error and I am left staring at my ubuntu desktop.
As script: When I select the UZG script, it takes ages to load, up to 5-10 minutes. When I finally am in the channel selector the same thing happens as with the plugin. Crash without error.

I checked the xbmc crashlog and got no info from there as far as I can see and the uzg log doesnt help either. I can post both if you like.

So please, can you help me? Could it be I am missing a package? I can play videos from uitzendinggemist.nl in firefox..

Exactly the same problem here.
I think it is hardware related. I have XBMC RC1 on a USB disk. I always boot from this USB disk. UZG works without a problem on 2 laptops, but when I boot the USB disk on my mediacenter PC UZG crashes.

I also didn't find anything in the log files.

1 laptop is a Acer Aspire One (Atom CPU, 1,6 GHZ, 1 GB memory). The other laptop is a Acer Aspire 8930G (Core2duo, 1,6Ghz. 4 GB memory, NVIDIA graphics card).

The mediacenter (the machine where UZG crashes) is P4 2,4 MHz. Asus P4C800 mobo, 1 GB memory, NVIDIA graphics card.

:confused2:

Hope this can be solved because I miss my uitzending gemist.

Check the uzg.log or uzgplugin.log (or post them on pastebin.ca)

I don't see anything strange regarding XOT. So I am afraid I can't really help you out.

Does XOT work as a script instead of a plugin?

- martijn189 - 2009-12-24

I have windows 7 with XBMC 9.11 final and have no problems with XOT, everything is working 100%. I which there was a search function to search shows, and perhaps that the skin is changed to reflect the new confluance theme.

Hey Basje,

I was afraid of that. The script is extremely slow as I said before. But when I finally get to the part where i can play a show, it either shuts down or locks up. It's really frustrating and I prefer using the plugin.

Very weird thing: It worked once. Just once, never before and never again. I did not change a single thing before or afterwards so I am completely stumped.

I'm getting a new setup soon (asrock ion) and I will be preforming a fresh ubuntu and xbmc install so I hope it'll work then.

Thanks for looking into it though, keep up the support Smile

Same for me. It worked once. One time I had Raymaan is laat. (I think that was 2 or 3 days ago). After that never again. Not even the same episode of Raymann is laat. I tried it on 2 different USB- hdd's: same story. Works great on the laptop, but not on the P4. With me the script is also terribly slow on the P4, it takes a couple of minutes before I see the icons.

Problem solved, for a few minutes... - bakra - 2009-12-25

Today I installed the final release of XBMC 9.11. I was very happy to see that uzg was working. But after I restarted XBMC the old problem was back again Sad
Can it be some file that is overwritten? So when I installed the new XBMC version that file is ok, but after the restart the file is overwritten by a wrong one? If so, what file can that be? Is uzg using some kind of config file?

This puzzles me. I don't know where to search....

- nilzen - 2009-12-25

I had problems with all(?) the included channels, XBMC was crashing when starting any of them.

Found out that line 208 in uriopener.py was the problem... So "#uriPB.update(100, pbLine1 ,pbLine2)" solved my problems, maby not the best way to fix a bug, but it works for me... (XBMC 9.11 on Ubuntu)

- bakra - 2009-12-25

I tried that, and again, it worked one time. After that xbmc crashed again. Huh
Basje, do you know if this urihandler.py can be the reason of this problem?

BTW I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 +XBMC 9.11 final release

That works for me too.

- maxtrax - 2009-12-26

also have the same problem with xot-uzg. It takes several minutes before the script starts up and when i start a show nothing shows up and xbmc/linux crashes

- bakra - 2009-12-27

With the tip from Nilzen it works most of the time. So for now I'm happy I can use my uitzending gemist again!

- maxtrax - 2009-12-27

Thats great, i will try it and if it works pietje putty is happy again. Nod

I will have a look at this issue. Could somebody post an official bugreport on the googlecode page for this?

Placed bug report in Google code - bakra - 2009-12-29

I placed a bug report for this in Google code. The issue number is 160. But maybe the problem is the same as issue 159. Altough that one is with an older version of XBMC, the problem seems simular.
