3D Dual Projection setup? 2 rasberry pis? - aaron.fritz - 2016-02-25

Was wondering if this was possible. I have a passive kit for 2 projectors. I would like to send the left eye to 1 projector and the right eye to another.

If there would be a way to sync 2 Raspberry pis together and send the picture to the appropriate projector.

This would be very cool as you can then create a very cheap passive system at home.

I don't believe you'd succeed in getting them sufficiently synchronised.

I am sure through software there may be a way.

There are devices that do it but cost more then 2 projectors would cost.

would be neat as a future possibility?

Any update on this?
I'm very also interested in it.
Maybe syncing with a 3rd Rpi?

thx

I'm sure it is possible using Pi's (there is some neat digital signage software that does something like this), but getting Kodi specifically to sync playback is its own challenge.

isn't there some sort of HDMI splitter that will mirror the HDMI signal on normal resolutions and only forward the correct eye in full frame HDMI 3D-modes (which the PI supports)?

There is a box but it is very expensive.
They are called 3D demultiplexer. which takes the 3d signal and splits it to right and left hdmi outputs.
