DXVA and black levels - _saiko - 2016-03-22 I was running Kodi 15.2 with success using full-full-full RGB 444 on kodi-gpu-tv and the black levels were fine. DXVA hw acceleration was enabled. After upgrade to Jarvis, either 16.0 or 16.1RC1 i have wrong black levels. Using the Black Clipping video from AVSHD709 calibration media i'm seeing blinking levels all the way down to 3-4. With DXVA HW acceleration disabled, levels are fine again (level 17+ visible). VLC also has no issues with hw acceleration enabled. AMD R9 280 in question, radeon 16.3.1 drivers, directx 11.1, w7x64SP1. RE: DXVA and black levels - Ed76 - 2016-03-22 hi, short: kodi 15.2 = dx9, kodi 16 = dx11. some hardware/driver-combination has problems switching to the correct video color range (problem does not occour with dx9, but with dx11). long: please reade the last posts/sites here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=218274 if you want do the test i did and post the results there (kodi test version/kodi final). also i posted there a kind of workaround that works at least for ati cards (shader replacement). |
