At the moment i'm not working any more on the big skin update, busy with some other non XBMC related projects. I'm still actively following the skinning section though. So there is still a chance of me releasing something in the future.

I think with all the dated skinning code and missing features, it's a bit beyond repair and starting from an up to date skin is easier.
You can find the old skin at http://vinci.tera-source.com/
If you want to take this a step further, we could create an entire new version. Maybe based on mockups and existing images of Vinci2. (examples)
Drop me a PM/mail if you're interested or need more info about the old Vinci.

I got to say your mockups look interesting. If you have the time I encourage you to go forward with it.

yesterday i tried to find the problems in the home.xml of the last version.
well ... it is really hard to find whats missing
so, maybe you are right. a "new" skin could be easier.
do you have any actual stuff that could be recycled for such a project?

I still have the psd files of the old skin. But these are built for 720p not 1080p.
Elements from the mockups could be used. Those files are 1080p originally.
I'm willing to design graphics for such a project. But I think it's best to first create the entire new flow of the skin before coding. (ie home/view screens, animations, transitions between screens etc)

Just to let you guys know, I started working on Vinci 2 again.
Busy (re)doing concepts at the moment.
XML will be a bit harder with all the changes, haven't touched skinning xml since september 2008
