1.01 isn't a XBMC build number I'm familair with, ?
Unless your XBMC build really is that old, in which case it'll be too old to run the latest scripts.
I'd suggest doing a manual XBMC upgrade, then maybe using the T3CH Upgrader script from that point onwards.

it was compiled on september 6th 2006
but i think this version is too old, too...

As previously posted, copy this update.py in the resources/lib folder to fix the update error
v1.1 not appeared on xbmcscripts.com as yet (which has the fix included)
For those that use the included autoexec.py (to check on xbmc startup);
You should note that after an update, the new script path will be something like \scripts\t3ch upgrader_v1.1\ and you should edit autoexec.py to reflect this.
I've not thought of a reliable bit of logic to auto update autoexec.py itself yet.

i think Asteron modified the update module to allow the new tagged version to remain in the same folder.
Maybe tetris is the script he did that with, i can't remember.
1.1 Update Fails - bcurtis - 2008-01-06
After updating the update.py file I "successfully" downloaded the 1.1 version. It created each required file and the full directory structure. Unfortunately, each file is the content from a google 404 error page.

Please integrate an option to "Auto-Update" if the script is started manually.
That´s my actual way:
Start the script and check updates
If Update is available, click on "Download"
When the DL is ready i have to press the "A"-Button 4 times again to finish the update (copy scripts, change shortcut ...). After that i´m always rebooting (A Buttonpress again).
My suggestion:
Do a "Auto-Update":
If Update is available and "Download" is selected, the script is doing ALL the update process, like DL, copying the scripts, changing the shortcut and rebooting.
Then the users can update XBMC and drink a cup of coffee inbetween
If they come back the new XBMC is readyThis should be selectable in the Settings.

The current v1.0 I am running works for me and I am really happy with it.
When trying to upgrade (I copied the update.py) to v1.2 via the autoupdate, the new script gets downloaded ok but then when trying to start it it fails. The erros are listed in the log below. (note I keep my userdata dir outside of XBMC). The error is something a about a failed .tbn file.
The same happend when I was trying to update to v1.1 of your script.

The update has been overhauled quite a bit, your debug looks like it'd downloaded/overwritten default.py with svn's 'page not found' html.
The logo hasn't changed or been updated so I suspect it was a knock on error.
v1.2 on xbmcscripts.com is the version with the overhauled update. It now installs to same folder (after making a backup) - please delete all old installations and do a clean installation of v1.2 (your settings are OK left in UserData)
I think that will cure your problems. If not let me know.

I used the xbmc script downloader. I just selected the new T3CH upgrader and it updated the 1.1 that I had just fine. Now I got a perfectly running 1.2! Yeah!
Thanks BBB. This is working great. I've been able to update to many versions of XBMC now without any hassle.

BBB - sorry I did as you suggested. The script won't launch. Erros remain the same as per above pastebin. Anyways version 1.0 still works so I am happy.
if you have a work around let me know I will be happy to try otherwise no big deal.

Sorry that I took so long to get back to you but things were pretty busy here.
So I wanted to try the 1.2 version of your script with the new T3CH and sadly it didn't work.
Just to remember, my XBox boots on E:\Dashboard\default.xbe
I did different tests and none of them worked.
I tryed:
Dash Drive: E:\
Dash name: Dashboard\default
I think this one was the one you told me to
Dash Drive:E:\Dashboard\
Dash name: default
This is only possible by editing the settings.txt but worked fine the last time
I've also tried combinations of those previous with more or less '\' but didn't find anything that worked. The annoying thing is that I have to download the release again every time so it takes some time.
So it downloads corretly the new release, tests if the path already exist (it doesn't) and then fails with a nice error message: the path does not exist, Retry ? E:\Apps\T3CH XXX and I click Ok and I'm stuck
In fact I have a E:\Apps\T3CH created by your scipt but it remains only the win32 and the _tools folders.
I didn't find anything in the debug except this but don't really know if this is relevant or not.
