i'm glad we spent all that time implementing the addon-browser. getting this kinda of whining is such an inspiration for further work.

The Addon browser kicks ass! Just wait for people to start switching their scripts/plugins etc to addons. Everything about the new system is better, you just have to wait for people to switch.

Forget what Niclas7 says he clearly doesn't know what he is talking about, he upgraded and now expects to install his old not-updated and ofcourse non-working plugins/scripts quickly. Fortunately, XBMC has grown hugely in an impressive mediacenter. Ofcourse old stuff might be a bit broken. And the new Addon stuff was really necessary. It is a lot easier to use (in my opinion) but is definetely better organised.

I like it, just wish there was more documentation available so people can easily modify his/her script or plugin.

Thanks for the amazing work and keep it up! Looking forward to the release.

Hey spiff, please don't misunderstand me. I really do appreciate your work and the work of all developers helping to make XBMC such a great application.
I haven't chosen it instead of MS Mediacenter or Boxee just for the fun of it but because it's THE mediacenter for me which fulfills all my wishes.

I was just kind of frustrated, because off having had to deal with the annoying playback issue of MKVs etc. until I had found this release after having had tried XBMC Live and other releases before.
Then finally I got it working but some things seemed to be broken. The movie database didn't seem to work anymore, the SVN Repo Installer wasn't there, the Add-On Manager only offered a few things...until I completely uninstalled all and reinstalled it. Now nearly everything works fine (except HDMI audio while MKV playback) and satisfying and the only thing which had cost me times and nerves was the darn SVN just to read now that it's not implemented anymore due to the AddOn-Manager which takes it's place now but doesn't seem to work for me.

So my post might be a bit frustration based but shouldn't mean that XBMC is crap or anyhing like that.

I'll just wait for things developing and stick to XBMC since finally I got my movies running smoothly now. Wink

I just tried the addons manager and it looks very cool. I can't find anything for the Apple Movie Trailers ... any hints on where I can find it?

Many thanks.

It's not available as yet.

Is there a way to still enable 3rd party scripts/plugins?
