Picasa plugin ? - steffen_b - 2010-08-30 15:07

Can someone tell me when the picasa plugin could be in addon as well ? I like Dharma, but also the picasa plugin ... Thx !

Dharma - Mark_H - 2010-09-01 22:35

I've recently returned to xbmc and was excited to read about the new Dharma release. However, non of the addons I used to use are available and, try as I might, I can't get the SVN Repo Installer to do anything.

How do I use it with Dharma? From the above postings I was kind of expecting to see a Repo Addon in Dharma (Confused) but I see nothing and I have no idea how to install the Repo Installer by hand. The wiki pages don't seem to match the app. at all Sad

I'm running Ubuntu 10.4.1

Cheers. Mark

There's no SVN repo script anymore, it's been replaced by the add-on manager. You can find and download new add-ons by going into SYSTEM > ADD-ONS > Get New Add-ons. Some add-ons are called repositories, which is essentially just another server hosting add-ons not in the main listing. Installing the said repo add-ons lets you access the add-ons hosted by that repository. Nuka has one set up to host his in-progress scripts and plugins.

Which add-ons did you used to use that are no longer available? Everything has to be rewritten from scratch, so old plugins will not work without significant recoding.

I kind of realised that (about the SVN repo not being present) last night as I was playing some more.

When I do SYSTEM > ADD-ONS > Get New Add-ons nothing happens. I see the xbmc.org addons (already enabled) but no others. How would I add other repos (repo addons?) ?

I did realize that addons need rewriting. My main interest atm is a BBC Iplayer addon and something to play mythtv recordings. I have discovered a new version of Iplayer that seems to work (but only with manual installation - not from a repo).

The mythtv front-end plugin is unresolved atm.

I know it's beta1 so I didn't expect total hassle free setup, but as far as I can tell if you do a PPA install you get Dharma ...

Check my sig to get the iplayer addon.

Anything i can try myself to get picasa plugin working as addon ? I mean is it only some entry point which needs change or is it needed to be rewritten to big extend ?

MythTV has been supported as a media source protocol for awhile now (not entirely sure how long). You shouldn't need any special scripts to play them.

For information on how to do this, checkout the relevant section in the XBMC wiki.

Ok this might be a stupid question, but can anyone point me in the right direction to how to install plugins?

I installed the latest version of XBMC on Ubuntu but I don't see any plugin/add-on section. Not under system nor video. I checked everywhere Frown

Do I need to install the SVN installer?

What skin are you using?

The same to me.
I have Ubuntu 10.10 and latest XBMC installed from lucid repositories (maverick wasn't available)
The skin is CONFLUENCE.
It seems that the installation lacks something.

- If I extract the SVN repo in plugins/programs dir, I can't see the plugin in xbmc
- there is no favourites.xml, and if I create it referring to the SVN REPO plugin, I can't access it when I'm going to add source.
- There is not System/Addons/get new addons entry in Xbmc menus.

I scanned the forum but I'm not able to find an appropriate answer to this problem..what can I do to solve this ?
I'm completely stuck with plugins..!
