- StillSchweiger - 2009-11-18 00:45 ok, found the "request from user". Let's see what Radejo thinks about it. I'm promoting my XBMC box to my wife and she finally started to use. She likes the mouse-only navigation (doesn't have to find the buttons on the remote), but asking her to stand up and walk over to the keyboard will not really work for her
YouTube on NAVi-X works perfect / YouTube plugin laggy - StillSchweiger - 2009-11-18 01:02 I'm not sure whether this belongs into this thread, but i figured out that when watching a Youtube video (h.264 ) via Navi-X the video is working perfectly . But when watching the same youtube video via the youtube plugin it is running too slow and audio is far ahead of the video (not in synch). What I figured out is that the streaming rate is much lower when watching via NAVI-x. In the settings of the youtube plugin I deactivated the option "play HD video if available", so it should pick the low-res version of the video. My questions is now how can it be that the Navi-x plays the YT video much better than via YT plugin. Both ways will use the same internal player ? Any thoughts on this ? - sdowney717 - 2009-11-19 22:23 http://code.google.com/p/navi-x/downloads/list I just cant get it to work. running ubuntu linux I can put the folder in scripts or plugins and get the same behavior What it does is load up the window, a message at top says navi-x web server is slow and nothing is clickable, in fact it seems xbmc hangs, the mouse moves around and i end it having to kill xbmc. from the log Quote:15:19:43 T:2946476912 M:2748850176 DEBUG: Thread 2946476912 terminating (autodelete) - tikkiew - 2009-11-23 01:32 @StillSchweiger No idea but if you want this to be fix you will need to make a new thread about your problem on youtube video plugin. @sdowney717 Are you using newer version of either linux or and XBMC? Rodejo on navix.turner3d.net Wrote:I tested the 3.0 version with Ubuntu 9.04 and XBMC 9.0.4.1. I will test with the latest Linux and XBMC releases asap. But I will need some time for this. native skin! - Cool_bombom - 2009-11-23 21:50 Hi I just wanted to know if Navi-X will get a new native skin, now that XBMC itself has a new default skin? many greetings CBB - sdowney717 - 2009-11-24 20:22 yes, I am running ubuntu karmic 9.10 and latest alpha xbmc. I upgraded to beta xbmc this am - tikkiew - 2009-11-25 00:19 @ Cool_bombom Rodejo is working on a new skin. But there is not an estimated time for this. You will see it on Navi-X when it is finished. However you can use other background. Go to Navi-Xtreme > User media, by User > Tikkiew > Tikkiew's playlist > Navi-X Skins. @ sdowney717 The reason why it is not working is that you are using ubuntu karmic 9.10. XBMC is OK to get the latest. But as you can read from the quote of Rodejo. He will work to make it compatible with the latest Linux Youtube and Video Issues tip in Navi-X - Sneakee - 2009-12-02 11:46 sierradump Wrote:Ya... I haven't gotten a SINGLE video to play. Not even the "DEMO" videos under the NAVI-X section. I found I was having the same problems on my XBOX when playing videos through Navi-X and I use the basic Project Mayhem 3 Skin with the 9.11 Alpha1 XBMC Build. I may be able to play a navi-x youtube video or 2 then it won't play any more and then crash. (video playback function in XBMC is perfect at 1080i) The trick is I run my screen resolution at 1080i and I get the video issues. Then as soon as I drop down my screen resolution to 720p before I enter Navi-X to play videos, there is no issues at all. It would suggest the memory of the Xbox is under pressure playing videos and running Navi-X in 1080i to me. It's a temporary solution to the issue and works for me. I like PM3's screen so I'm not bothered by the eye candy of other skins. I find PM3 is the most effective and best anyway and as much as I'd love to use other skins I return to PM3 all the time. It works best with nearly all scripts and plugins and doesn't drain the memory. I find even PM3.HD tends to crash on my Xbox at 1080i and looks slightly blurry at 720p resolution. Hope the tip helps! Drop the XBOX screen resolution from 1080i to 720p before entering Navi-X if you intend on playing videos! If playing streaming music or pictures keep it at 1080i and there should be no issues. - w3__ - 2009-12-02 19:56 My problem with Navi-X right now is that it doesn't seem to play any videos for longer than 15 seconds and then just drops me back to the navigation (Xbox, latest T3CH release). Bummer -- really hope this can be fixed, if it is a plugin problem! While I'm here, one plugin request: To save memory on the Xbox it would be nice to have an optional feature to NOT download thumbnails! ...If you're listening, ironbill )
- tikkiew - 2009-12-05 20:28 @w3__ Strange.I don't have this problem on my xbox when I test this right now. Are you using Navi-X video plugin 3.0 and t3ch XBMC SVN build - 9.11Alpha1! ? I am not sure if this will save memory and why you need to save to memory. But I guess this would mean that playlists would load faster. And some people ( like me ) prefer that more than those thumbnails for beauty. By the way ironbill isn't the maker of script and plugin . Rodejo does this. |
