macf1an Wrote:great news! a few remarks:
since the file is already uploaded to the navi-x googlecode page - why not update the scripts.plx so that people can update with just a click?

We are in the process of a major administrative change for this. Rodejo did not release 3.7.2, hence he is still unaware of it. We will add this later.

macf1an Wrote:why not implement a feature like in the plugin where you can get a list of items starting with a particular letter?

We just made this work very recently. If you want to get this request in, contact turner3d@gmail.com and ask him if he would do this.

macf1an Wrote:No HD-only filter!

Again, ask Turner3D if you want a certain something in the scraper.

macf1an Wrote:I have the playback running fine with 3.7.1 -what difference will 3.7.2 bring?

I don't know... ask him. Big Grin See where this is headed? ROFL!

macf1an Wrote:It's great not having to wait 45/25 seconds !!

Yeah, he's using MegaVideo links to make it work like so. Turner3D rules!!

thanks - I already wrote in the forum!
Great news is that the current plugin is also compatible with that scraper.

Thanks for the heads up! Glad to hear it!

Wow works great! Thx IRONBILL and all the Navi-X crew! You guys ROCK!

- dieselboy27 - 2011-12-01 02:16

So, I just tried this out and there is no 45 second wait for icefilms. That's great but how come?

- iR0NBiLL - 2011-12-01 02:26

We're magical! Wink

We are currently piping things through MegaVideo first. If it's not doable, it opens from MegaUpload. If you have a premium MegaVideo account, you can login and skip 72-minute limit... otherwise, not all MU links are available on MV servers, thus you get it after a 45 second wait.

If people have troubles with the current setup, we will start piping from MU first before MV but this is working currently, so well see how it fairs out with the users.

Everyone can thank Turner3D for the IceFilms scraper / processor combo... great work from this man always.

It's pretty slick, this definitely makes Navi-X epic.

- macf1an - 2011-12-01 19:12

the latest update by turner3d broke the plugin - it just doesn't know it has to wait 45 seconds before playing..
at least HD is HD Smile
Cool_bombom - are you following?

Edit: by "broke the plugin" I mean the icefilms part only..

Anything implemented on Navi-X currently will NOT be ported to the plugin. The plugin was created by a Navi-X user about 2 years ago and they have stopped work on it since. Technically, it's not an official Team Navi-X supported port.

Cool_bombom has been nice enough to add functions to the plugin, but it should not be expected that all official features we develop will be ported to the plugin.

If Cool_bombom would like to dedicate time to maintaining the plugin, please reach out to me at xironbillx@gmail.com Cool_bombom and if you have the time and patience to dedicate to Team Navi-X and users, we would greatly appreciate it and can make it an officially supported port. Otherwise, it will die a horrible death and get left behind. Thanks for your understanding of this mac1fan.

Team Navi-X State of the Union - 2011 - iR0NBiLL - 2011-12-01 22:01

Hello World! I’m here to make a few announcements and offer you our “state of the union” address for the 2011 year of development on Navi-X! This has been a pretty awesome year with lots of expansion to different platforms, a great increase in Navi-X user traffic and content as well as a re-vamped version of Navi-X on the Boxee platform with key features highly requested from our users. We also were fortunate enough to get help from community programmers in porting Navi-X to the very popular Android platform! Team XBMC also made breakthroughs, allowing Navi-X on the iPad and iPhone a reality! We undoubtedly had more gains than losses and I think it’s safe to say we had a pretty stellar year for being a 100% free and open-source project! Thanks goes out to everyone who worked with me personally this year to shake the bushes and make things happen… I am in debt to you always!

While there is no doubt this has been our best year yet, it also will be our saddest year as well unfortunately. The original Navi-X creator and developer, Rodejo (a.k.a. Ronald) will be leaving the team at the end of the year. Ronald has been working on Navi-X for the past 4 ½ years, spearheading developments on his app, which has lead us to one of the most innovative and creative project ever to grace XBMC installations everywhere… without Ronald’s guidance and wisdom, this undoubtedly will leave a huge hole in our heart that can never be filled by just anybody… Ronald will truly be missed and loved by all who have heard about Navi-X… my personal thanks goes out to Ronald for allowing us all to be apart of his creation and being such a great mentor and friend. We love you bros… always!

Rodejo unfortunately is so busy in his current occupation, he simply has no more time in his life to work on what he started almost 5 years ago. Can you really blame his company for keeping his plate full? A smart person like Ronald must be the cornerstone where he works and I’m glad to see in a tough economy, even the brightest can shine through the darkness. While it will undoubtedly be tough to replace someone like Rodejo on Team Navi-X, our good friend and developer Turner3D will be taking over Navi-X operations as the Chief Executive Officer for Team Navi-X.

Turner3D has been on the project for a couple of years now and originally created Navi-Xtreme, a website where people could link to content using a simple GUI instead of having to manually create playlists and host them yourself. Turner3D also created the first “scrapers” and “processors” for Navi-X that automates content aggregation from different sources on the internet, pioneering the popular trend you see throughout the app today. While Turner3D is not an applications developer, he is now the chief decision maker for us, as well as the person who coordinates data integration and process approval for all Navi-X devs and contributors. Let’s all give a warm welcome and congratulations to our newest commander-in-chief as we continue to provide you with free developments and service brought to you by Team Navi-X!

With this in mind, I’d also like to thank Turner3D personally for bringing out one of the most highly requested and anticipated scraper/processor combos for a long time… IceFilms. The support for IceFilms is currently fully implemented in Navi-X 3.7.2 for XBMC and partially in Navi-X 1.4 for Boxee at this time. We are still working on tweaks and support integration at this time and will continue to tweak it until it’s fully functional, so please be patient as we go about this.

We also will be seeking new programmers to help us keep the movement going for Navi-X on both XBMC and Boxee platforms, as Bartsidee is also no longer able to fully maintain developments for the Boxee ports at this time. With this said, Navi-X development is officially at a stand still until new developers are scouted for both XBMC and Boxee platforms for Team Navi-X… this includes minor and major updates as well as bug fixes so get comfortable with the current condition of Navi-X on these platforms, as it will be sometime before new developers can be found and work diligently with us to provide further developments. If any app developers are interested in taking over developments for Navi-X on either platform, please reach out to me at xiRoNBiLLx@gmail.com for consideration. The work you contribute will surely be appreciated by all, should you consider the position with Team Navi-X.

On a positive note, Neveroffline is still diligently working on Navi-X for GoogleT V and has made a lot of progress on this front. With any luck, we will see a port by the end of the year or at the start of the 2012 year! Hat’s off to his hard work and dedication to the team, even through the very clear attempts at stealing his app… those who have been doing so will be very disappointed in a future release to see a new clever system has been implemented and is unavoidable. We will be working diligently with him to see his work on the app is protected and appreciated accordingly. Also, a senior protocol developer from Team Playon is almost done with his work on Navi-X for Playon, which will officially be the final porting of a Navi-X app as this will cover all additional platforms… mobiles, consoles and proprietary devices. We are pretty much on all devices already with a flavor, but the Playon port will help bring stability and uniform compatibility of Navi-X to everyone! A great thanks to Seeit360 on Team Playon for all of his work on this as well!
As 2012 will undoubtedly present new challenges and issues to work through, you can rest assured the senior members of Team Navi-X and company will still be there and around to provide one of the most important services currently available today. While we attempt to change, bring on new developers and attempt to consolidate the project together and streamline processes, we appreciate your patience while we attempt to make changes for the better that will undoubtedly shape our agenda and future developments to come for Navi-X and the team! Thanks again goes out to all of Team Navi-X and company for making Navi-X such a wonderful project to work on and for… you all are in my heart always!

Warm Regards,

Bill Daly
