Playlist playback aborted - Too many consecutive failed items"

I'm getting this with just about everything i try to view. I have upgraded to 3.0 rc but it still happens. Any ideas?

I shall change the name of the silly string.

On of the reasons You get this message it that the item doesn't exist any more.But you need to say before I can look in to it which streams this occur.

Example:
Navi-Xtreme Media Portal > User Media,by User > iRoNBiLL > Southpark > S 13 E6 - Pinewood Derby
The url of stream=http://www.megavideo.com/?v=CR3G7B69
When you go the site you will see the stream doesn't exist any more.

Only I just found out that sometimes you will get this message and sometimes item just will not play without any error message.I don't know why this is.

@Baldo: As is pointed out by jmarshall above, this error message comes from XBMC. In addition to tikkiew's example, I have also seen this occur when a site is down or extremely slow. I have seen this with both stagevu and videofriender depending on time of day/night when the sites are being taxed. If I retry later, the same link seems to play fine.

I could use a hand... - sierradump - 2009-10-24 06:22

I could use some help...

Found out about Navi-X last week, finally got around to installing it on my my PC this afternoon. XBMC for windows, Navi-x 3.0. WORKED AWESOME. Watched a few hours of video.

Came home stoked to install it on my modded xbox (modchip) and I CAN NOT GET IT TO WORK! GUI loads fine and I can browse all the playlists but as soon as I click on a title to watch it goes "processing" in lower left, then a box pops up (XBMC pre-load screen) and says "avi format, caching, etc..." and then screen goes away and I am back at GUI like nothing ever happened. I tried this several times with same results, SOMETIMES getting an error that would say "error too many failed items"....

So I started tweaking things and finally gave up and just reinstalled the latest STABLE build of XBMC for Xbox (9.04.1-fixed) from T3CH. I then downloaded Navi-X 3.0RC.

Went straight into Navi-x and I GET THE SAME RESULTS! ARRRRGGGGHHH.

SO FRUSTRATING as it works fine on my PC --- I am trying to play the same exact file that plays fine on my PC. But I want to watch from my TV Sad So I need to get this working on my XBOX.

Any help/suggestions would be very helpful.

@sierradump
Read the 3 post above your post.
Most important thing is that I need to know which file you can't play exactly.

@tikkiew

I understand that SOME of the content can "disappear" or the links may expire;

HOWEVER I am getting erratic results... It doesn't seem to matter WHAT content I try to play; nothing will work. I even did a FRESH/CLEAN install with the "9.04.1 -- FIXED" Stable build listed on the T3CH site. I then downloaded Navi-X RC3.0 and I am getting the same results.

FOR EXAMPLE:

NAVI-X Media Portal -> YouTube -> Worldwide -> Top Favorites -> Top Favorites This Month -> "Bounce"

When I click on the content "Bounce" it looks like it's going to work (I get activity on the lower left of Navi-X gui) but then activity disappears and nothing happens and I can continue browsing through the portal...

2nd Example:

Navi-X Networks Portal -> Video Networks -> Sports Networks -> NFL Network -> "Giants 24, Panthers 17 Published: Aug 17, 2009 etc...."

When I click on this title, again I get activity on lower left of Navi-X Gui, THEN it looked like it was going to work, I got the XBMC timeline up in the top right corner of screen with a "pause" icon, but the Navi-X gui never disappeared and the xbox locked up.

3rd Example:

Navi-X media Portal -> Navi-Xtreme - verified user media -> Most Viewed Lists of last 7 Days -> Boseman's Movies -> " 12 Rounds (2009) "

When I click on that I get the "processor processing", then loading, then "opening stream popup", then "caching", then "avi format detected". THEN ALL THE PRE-PROCESSING BOXES DISAPPEAR and nothing else happens and I am back at the Navi-X GUI. I click on the title again 2 or 3 times with the same results. THEN around the 4th time I click on something I get the "too many errors" message and I have to reboot the xbox.

I am having the same issues. Too many errors, cannot find file, lockups, non playing files, etc.

- sierradump - 2009-10-24 22:57

Ya... I haven't gotten a SINGLE video to play. Not even the "DEMO" videos under the NAVI-X section.

There is nothing wrong with my XBMC setup either; as I stream all my DVD and .Divx files fine over my network. I also had a separate YOUTUBE plugin (before I wiped and reinstalled XBMC) that I could stream youtube movies with no issues.

So it is definitley a XBMC/NAVI-X issues (not saying there is neccessarily a problem -- just that there is probably a certain combination of versions to get it working on an actual XBOX).

IT WORKS GREAT ON MY PC. Been watching stuff fine all day.

- tikkiew - 2009-10-25 13:08

@sierradump and spidey.

Well with XBMC 9.04.1 Stable you have less bugs.
You can use newer versions of XBMC.But not able to play any media isn't one of them.If you are saying other script/plugins not playing media.Than it is probably XBMC/NAVI-X issue.
Only thing I can think of is your skin and cache settings.Which skin are you using?On some skins video will load in the background.And what is your cache internet settings?
Go to settings > system > cache.I want to know the internet cache settings.
I just noticed(on my xbox with Navi-X) high cache settings will not let you play most media.And gives me all the problems you mentioned.

- sierradump - 2009-10-25 17:23

@tikkiew

Other scripts play internet media with no problems.

I am using the default theme that comes with the "t3ch 9.04.1-Fixed-Babylon" XBMC build.

My cache settings for INTERNET are both 4096k. The internet cache setting at the top, AND the "unknown internet" setting at the very bottom. Again both are set at 4096k.

Should I change my theme? And if so - to what? And what are the ideal cache settings?

THANKS!
