I have this working on my XBMC install (Ubuntu), but there's no image for it in the video plugin menu. How do I rectify this, please?

- mike-1 - 2011-08-14

This is obviously an update of an earlier add-on. However, I can find 2 or 3 ITV catchup add-ons, but cannot get any of them to work with the new files posted on the previous page. Could anyone who has got this to work please advise as to what is the original to update.

I'm using Dharma 10.1 running on Windows 7 & Vista

Many Thanks

Mike

Mike, to get it to work, get the old version of the plugin from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=46PTHD5V.

Then these 3 file need to be copied into the plugin folder:
  1. addon.xml

  2. default.py

  3. utils.py - make sure it's saved as 'utils.py' and not as 'utils.txt' (or 'utils.py.txt')

The first 2 files are replacements, and the 3rd file (taken from the BBC plugin) is new to the ITV plugin.

Finally in your 'userdata/addon_data' folder, you need to create a new folder called "plugin.video.itv". Then in this new folder, create two subfolders called "Images" & "Subtitles".

I've got this working on my ATV 2 but one question I have is

how do I turn off the subtitles?

Thanks in advance

MacLondon, thanks for the help, but still no-go here. I'll paste the Debug Log ASAP for the developer

You need to create a folder in:-

userdata/addon_data

not

userdata

Subtitle default setting is in guisettings.xml

I've changed mine to default to "false" so that you can always turn on subtitles whilst watching.

Hi,

I had the same error as you in my debug log (RTMP handshake failed after the negotiation) and was able to fix it by compiling rtmpdump from svn using the instructions here: http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-repo/issues/detail?id=28#c30 and here: http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-repo/issues/detail?id=28#c16

After building and installing the new packages (or the windows libraries from what I gather in the thread), the videos started working right away.

Hope that helps

librtmp.dll - MacLondon - 2011-08-17

Mike, if you haven't updated librtmp.dll in the last month or so, you need to do so.

To get librtmp.dll, you could download the zip file at http://www.mediafire.com/file/y271gb4vlnf2gxk/rtmpdump-2.4.zip. (Ignore the other files in the zip)

Copy it to replace the librtmp.dll file in C:\Program Files\XBMC\system\players\dvdplayer (location for Windows)

Working perfectly now. The librtmp.dll solved it! Thanks MacLondon
