Operating over VNC - hud$ - 2008-05-05
I've had a search around the forum and I can see that several of you access xbmc over VNC from a laptop.
When I use VNC my laptop shows a flickering mess, you can just make out where the menus are etc, but it's very difficult to do anything. I have tried with PMH3, xTV and Aeon so it can't be a fault of the skin. VNC works fine with other applications on my mini mac.
Is this something to do with my refresh rate, or another setting?

That's because XBMC isn't drawn like normal OS X apps, it's ARD/VNC draws it like a movie file playing. Hence slow performance and flickering.

Not really any solution I can find thus far...

I run XBMC windows (800x600) and share the screen with Apple Remote Desktop. It's doable. (just a little slow).
