Hey billy... is there any plans on having MC display a list of new media items it finds along with options to alter the results? As it is now if i scrape something new i get a text file that is largely useless and I have to scroll through all my movies and look for the few that were added to the ever growing list.

So I guess I am asking for an option to have a confirmation dialogue per new movie found that displays the movie information if found so I can alter it or approve it.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, there is already a checkbox "Display new movies only"
This lists movies added during the current session.

Billy,
still have problem with Pixar DVD. There are NFO files that CM created but it did not scrape properly. When I try to use the trashcan it crashes the app...

hi billyad2000, nothing about the "aka" title instead the original when scraping from italian imdb? can we hope?

thanks

- rodercot - 2009-03-13

Billyad2000,

I ended up just renaming the episodes to .avi scraping them and then naming them back to .ts, that worked just fine and before the new version you posted with the new .ext added.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this awesome program it is VERY well rec'd and the work it saves in beyond words.

Rgds,

Dave

Could you give me the directory structure and filenames of the media you are having trouble with.

Also, are you using folder mode or file mode?

When scraping TV shows, if the name of the TV show doesn't match exactly what you searched, you have to close it and reopen it to get it to list the information.

IE - Directory "Mash"...it finds M*A*S*H and it stays blank until you reopen it. Then in the list it shows M*A*S*H and you can see the info.

Not a big deal at all but a bug none the less.

Also, I can't get it to scrape my tv shows. I have a regex.xml file in the main dir and this is all that is in it.

Code:
<regexp>Season ([0-9]+) - Episode ([0-9]+)[^\\/]*</regexp>

but when I run the program, it deletes the file completely. Not sure what that is about. Does it keep that in the settings somewhere? Is that why it deletes it?

That Pixar film isn't gong to scrape for you because it doesn't exist in IMDB

- Livin - 2009-03-13

smcnally75 Wrote:That Pixar film isn't gong to scrape for you because it doesn't exist in IMDB

That is fine so hopefully Billy can make an option that if it is not in IMDB that it does not write NFO files and shows in the MC list as something to ID it easily like, the file or folder name itself.

Billy, is that cool?

- midgetspy - 2009-03-13

I notice that the tv .nfo files only contain <actor> nodes for the people in the special features. It would make sense for them to also contain the list of actors from the series (since that's where all the recurring actors are anyway).

These are available from the tvdb.com API in the form of actors.xml. Any chance we can get MC to put the main show actors in every episode nfo?

While some kind of automation may be coming in the future it is not a high priority, and I have never said otherwise.

Sorry about that, I guess I should have read better. Thanks for clearing it up Billy.

(I had trouble with this one too) - It does however exist as a TV show in tvdb - that's how I fixed it & got it scraped in mc.

This is by far the most accurate scraper I have used, the only problems im having, are occasional crashes, and i REALLY REALLY hate when my film title is changed, eg. if my film is called 'A fathers revenge' and its in a folder called 'A Fathers Revenge', and it matches an Alias of a film on IMDB, I still want my film called 'A Fathers Revenge', I dont want it changed to whatever IMdB thinks it should be (Especially when it changes to 'Das Rattennest'). So could u add an option of keeping your original title *if* it matches a film alias on imdb.

Apart from that - excellent stuff!
