Sony TV judder and sync issues - AleXSR700 - 2019-05-04

Hello everyone :-)
I love kodi and use it on my PC, my phone, my fire tv and now also my Sony XF90 SmartTV.

However, I am having quite a few issues on the Sony.
Some videos judder and the sound is out of sync. When I play them on my phone or PC, everything is fine. But on the Sony they judder like crazy.
I tried enabling the automatic refresh rate adjustment but that either does not work or does not help (TV does not show current refresh rate anywhere).

I have tried all the video settings I could find and none seem to help.

When I put exactly the same files on a usb stick, plug them into the TV and play them with Sony's (very ugly and uncomfortable) video player they play perfectly.

So the TV seems capable of decoding/handling them. But either kodi is not syncing properly to the display or something else is wrong.

I am happy to supply you with any info needed :-)

I hope someone can help me out.

Cheers
Alex

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Hi,
thank you for your reply. I will try to do so today.

What I did do yesterday was install SPMC. With SPMC I have absolutely no issues. Sound is correct. Picture is correct. No judder, no nothing.

May this be a gernal Android compatibility issue? Anyway, I will try to make a log.

P.S.: Just FYI, Sony TVs do not allow an adjustment of the frame rate. Just in case KODI relies on that and SPMC does not.

RE: Sony TV judder and sync issues - AleXSR700 - 2019-05-05

Okay, I uploaded two logs. One created with KODI and one with SPMC.
Judder especially towards the end (ca. 2-2:20 min) of the video I watched. Exactly the same video with SPMC shows no such judder.

I tried all the different settings I could think of in KODI. But none seemed to remove the issue.

SPMC: https://paste.kodi.tv/cijofufete.kodi

Please delete the logs from pastebin when you are done Smile

The forum moderators have determined that banned addons (wiki) are present on your system. To receive assistance here, these banned items must be removed. If a clean log is not submitted within 3 days, then the relevant post(s) will be removed after this time.

I don't understand. What do AddOns have to do with it? I am looking for support with basic KODI, not an AddOn.
I can uninstall whatever offends you because some things were just experiments to see if they work. But removing them will not change the log.

Do I really need to remove and then do the whole thing again?

Okay, I cannot edit my posts here. Is that feature disabled?

I uninstalled the old repositories and plugins. I guess keeping kodinerds and "ran" is okay, right? They are clean.

By the way, I do see the reasoning behind not supporting or allowing the discussion of any questionable plugins. And the guy that set it up for me installed them way back. But as the issue has nothing to do with them and I did not mention or ask about them, I found it strange to be turned down with legitimate issues.
Anyway, I don't need them as I never use them, so they are gone now :-)

It's pretty simple: Team Kodi does not get involved in video piracy. Period. We don't care if you don't "see" that. Over time we have already received plenty of crap on our reputation by the doings of other people. As an example: https://kodi.tv/article/piracy-box-sellers-and-youtube-promoters-are-killing-kodi

We don't tell people what or not to install on their systems/boxes, but we do choose what we do or don't support. That's our prerogative: our software, our forum, our rules.

Unfortunately, there are some anti-spam measures in place on our forum.
You will be getting full access after some time and a number of posts.

Still not a clean setup. Notice the orange-colored entries in the addons section.
Either start with a new & clean profile (easier than de-installing all the piracy crap), or stop wasting our time.

Yes, that's fine. But it should be allowed to question this also. After all, what would you say if Google did not offer security patches for devices that once had some kind of nonsense installed ;-)

But yes, I understand and since I just did test installs, I don't care whether they are on my system or not.

Interesting. Wasn't even aware the "A" was installed. It was just a settings wizard. Absolutely nothing to do with any filesharing.

The rest obviously an unclean uninstall. I manually removed them now. So SPMC log stays as is and the new pastebin for KODI is:

Is the information I supplied sufficient to be able to pinpoint the issue or do you need me to supply more or alternative info?

Not everyone here is a video guru, so I was hoping that others would also step in.

One thing you could try is to disable the hw video acceleration, and see what that does.

I tried disabling and enabling anything I could find. So no, unfortunately that did nothing.
