Kodi loses focus - 2nzy2 - 2020-04-22

Every build and every skin on every device ice installed it has the same fault.
While watching a film the previous menu will pop up as if you pressed backwards.
You have to press tab or click on the film to return to it.
How do you fix this fault and stop this annoyance as this should not happen

You already posted about this https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=353472&pid=2940444#pid2940444 so the answers will be the same Huh

RE: Kodi loses focus - 2nzy2 - 2020-04-22

Well it makes kodi pretty pointless when the end game is to watch a film :/

Seems it only affects you, so clearly an issue with your setup somewhere. How do you expect help without providing the info you've been asked for.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

As said it is on every build on every skin on every machine.
It just cannot play a film without automatically going back a page

Simple, don't press back while watching a movie Laugh

But seriously you don't explicitly state how you are controlling Kodi? in your original post you seen to imply it spontaneously happens but it now turns out you are actually pressing the Back button. Assuming it's a keybaord you are using, then if you don't want the Back button to do anything while watching something then you need to create a keyboard.xml file and add it to the keymaps folder in your Userdata (wiki) folder containing the following

xml:

<keymap>
<FullscreenVideo>
<keyboard>
<backspace>noop</backspace>
</keyboard>
</FullscreenVideo>
</keymap>

For more on modifying the default key mapping refer to https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_keymaps

RE: Kodi loses focus - orby - 2020-04-22

Well it’s your install doing it no one else’s, if you need help post a log as requested, as I have every build on every skin on every machine working

Without a log we cannot help, do you just turn up to a mechanic and say my cars broke but you can’t inspect it, just fix it?

I said it does it automatically as if you have pressed back space.
I will try that now Wink

RE: Kodi loses focus - jjd-uk - 2020-04-22

Ah misread, however Kodi will never ever do something like that automatically so something must be triggering a Back press or Fullscreen action (which is the action Back button is mapped to), to tell where it's coming from a Debug Log would be required. Adding the keymap as I previously suggested will only block the action from taking place if it's coming from a keyboard or some other device/app emulating keyboard commands.

RE: Kodi loses focus - 2nzy2 - 2020-04-22

Testing now
Will have to qait and see Smile
Hopefully it's the backspace doing it and not 'esc'

RE: Kodi loses focus - 2nzy2 - 2020-04-22

Ah,its just done it again Sad
Will try 'esc'

RE: Kodi loses focus - jjd-uk - 2020-04-22

Note it has to be the word escape as in https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master/system/keymaps/keyboard.xml#L386

But if you want to get to the bottom of the root cause then you'll need to do the debug log.

RE: Kodi loses focus - 2nzy2 - 2020-04-22

Yea I replaced the word with 'escape' and so far it hasnt happened Wink
Good while in on this film now and it hasnt gone back a page - yet.
Tho I'll try 'tab' if it does.
Big ups my man,youre a winner Wink
