kricker, why are you building still? What's the difference between what you do and the official nightly builds?

Is GL needed/suggested for any specific usage?

- kricker - 2010-07-09

There are no differences between mine and the official nightly builds. I am still building mainly for those that use the XBMC auto update client. Also the GL builds are useful for those with older hardware (like my dell 700m laptop) that the DX builds don't show video anymore.

I also see it is a backup just in case something goes wrong with the XBMC mirror system, or building system.

Thanks Kricker, please keep it up - I'm sure there must be a lot of people depending on your GL releases!

GL builds not on download site. - superx666 - 2010-07-16

Hey Kricker,

Just an FYI but the "GL" builds you say you have posted are not on your download site. I just usually go straight there and I noticed that the "GL" builds are not up to date. You might want to check into it as you've got the links here, but they are dead.

Thanks

Will do. Thanks. There is a good chance the GL builds do not compile properly anymore. I'll check on it.

EDIT:
As suspected the GL builds are not compiling. As GL is no longer supported, there is little chance it'll be fixed.

Well dang....that's a major bummer. I've got a system with an older video card and I can only run the "GL" version on it. I like staying bleeding edge. I guess I'll just have to run a bleeding edge "DX" version for testing other non-video stuff and use the last "GL" build you posted.

Thanks for the heads up!

The SVN DX builds now have a software renderer. Those using the GL builds due to white video playback may want to try a new SVN DX build and see how that works for you. New versions are uploading now.
