XBMC as bootable application - roylefamily - 2008-09-19

Hello All,

Are there any plans to make XBMC a bootable application for intel boxes? It seems a shame to have to wait for an OS to boot. Would stripping bits out of linux be the best way to achieve this?

er, we release "XBMC Live" yesterday:

XBMC has never nor will it ever be an operating system. Sitting a top a stripped embedded linux is the best bet. Controlling hardware at all, let alone the 234798273492837429834 different combonations of hardware and doing all sorts of file access is just way too much work.

Righto,

It's linux for me then. Will have to start considering my hardware.
