NFS File sharing buggy with Newer Versions of Kodi? - mrkapqa - 2023-08-10
Hello ,
i am writing you to inform that i am having problems accessing my NFS File shares from NAS via Kodi;
it used to function normally up to Kodi 18, or maybe 19, but from then on NFS file shares do time out, and are not found;
hence i need to add them manually.
Is there someting that has changed in Kodi or why is this happening;
it is not major issue, but still bit consuming issue.

haven't see any NFS issues with v20 and v21-alpha on Monterey / Ventura so far, NFS share comes from external USB-HDD attached to laptop running Debian

Use NFSv3 over 4 if your not. Nfs4 in kodi is still a work in progress and definitely isn't as well battle tested as nfs3

it definitely is not funcitoning well on MacOS , but easily on Linux (debian, ubuntu) or Windows.
where could i change the NFS setting from Nfsv4 to NfsV3?
The NFS share lies on an Nas from Asus.
Tested on MacOS 10.14 and 11.

check in your NAS settings

hello ,
i checked the NAS settings, would not know where to look;
the issue is only with Macs; i need to enter the NFS share IP adress manually there;
it function normally on Windows and Linux.
