XBMC/Linux DVD Remote Recomendations - pencer - 2008-10-02 Hi, Like many here I've got an old xbox/xbmc setup and I'm moving to XBMC for Linux so I can watch hidef stuff. Can anyone recommend a decent remote and receiver I can use with my PC/LINUX/XBMC setup? I've searched around and haven't really found any lists of models I can buy that will definitely work with Linux/XBMC, point me there if i missed them please! Ideally a link to a uk site (or ebay listing) where I can buy one would be best. Many thanks. - rodalpho - 2008-10-02 Get a standard windows MCE remote and receiver. Works great. Alternatively, the PS3 remote is now supported if you have bluetooth, but then you can't program into a universal remote. Edit: holy crap, editing posts works now! - pencer - 2008-10-02 Something along these lines then? http://www.ciao.co.uk/Microsoft_Remote_Control_and_USB_Receiver_for_Windows_Media_Center_PC__6541808 - rodalpho - 2008-10-02 Yes, that's the one. It will work perfectly, no configuration required. That's the "standard", if there is such a thing, for XBMC. - pencer - 2008-10-16 I can't believe how easy that was! I got one of the standard MCE remotes, booted XBMC Live, and it worked without doing anything. That's about as close to an appliance as your going to get i reckon. Well done one and all for making is so easy. - Pvt_Ryan - 2008-10-16 i got one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CyberLink-Remote-Control-Vista-XP-Windows-Media-Center_W0QQitemZ270283980386QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item270283980386&_trkparms=72%3A1345|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ebayphotohosting But you need this program to get it working with xbmc: http://linux.thaj.net63.net/cyberlinkusb/ I'll send you my config if you want. Only thing that doesnt work is mute and that's because I can't get it to work for my keyboard.. I am reading up on linux driver development so maybe I'll be able to write a driver for it. The main advantage of this remote is with that program it is highly customizable.. - snoop2048 - 2009-12-29 Pvt_Ryan Wrote:i got one of these: Sorry to drag up an old thread, but any chance you could send me a copy of your keys.h file, please?
