BD Remotes Myth - superarcan - 2010-02-09 10:15 I see this myth in some forum post: Windows 7 have better power management = Windows 7 will put BD Remote to sleep. False : tested by me and also documented. Windows 7 put his connection to sniff mood in response to device changing connection mod. http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/5/4/854F66B6-8C09-4F8A-986E-38E9EBAC1677/Windows7_Power_Management_Whitepaper.pdf Wrote:Bluetooth Power Improvements BDRemotePowerManager.1.0.1 Bugs and ToDo - superarcan - 2010-02-09 10:52 Soon hope, the BDRemotePowerManager will support also Widcomm Bluetooth Stack (depend on 32Feet.Net: http://files.cnblogs.com/procoder/32feet-and-Widcomm-Broadcom.doc) In some cases the application put to sleep remote after X min from Awake and not from last time a key was pressed (need more debug to see reason). The icons are easy to mistake with bluetooth stack icon (If someone can help with a set of icons in 3 color all windows request dimension with Sony PS logo and / or Remote and / or Bluetooth) Try to find a way to get last HID device input without disturb other applications access to resource, so i can read battery level (if someone can help, Please). My English is very bad, so please correct me. I wait for more feedback in this forum. - langmarker - 2010-02-09 12:07 I'ts gold! Thank you very much. Now comes serious testing! - sIRwa2 - 2010-02-09 23:42 im a bit busy this next 5 day's, but i can make icons. only need the desired form and size. you know them? or i'll google em later. Also have some questions about the sleep state.. is it a different state the remote is in or is it like an disconnect> like when you terminate the bluetooth receiver? i hope more people join in on the testing.. love the app so far!! Logitech Harmony adapter for PS3 - palmero - 2010-03-25 15:24 Hi, Contratulations to all the developers for the nice work... Quite impressive, indeed. I have testes in in Windows 7 Home 64bit, running on an Acer Revo r3610, and it works flawlessly with the PS3 BD remote. Just install, "Pair and Play". However I want to propose a new challenge: A few months ago, Logitech released this jewel: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/5732&cl=us,en Basically, it is a Bluetooth remote from the PS3 but an IR sensor from our point of view... So it translates IR commands (at least from the Harmony remote, but I guess it will work with any) to Bluetooth. It keeps the link to the PS3 while it is on stand by, and you can use a Harmony remote (starting from 30 bucks) to control ALL YOUR EQUIPMENTS, including FULL control of the PS3. So my idea is to put the XBMC on a Revo box (on the back of the flat TV, controlled using the BT of the Logitech Adapter) and use the Harmony remote to control the rest of the equipments, so when I turn the volume up, it will be the A/V receiver volume the one that receives the IR codes to raise the level. I thought at first that the combination (Harmony + Logitech PS3 Adapter) would be functionally equivalent to the PS3 BD remote (it is for the PS3), but it does not work that fast (it is not "pair & play" ;-P). I am sure that you can do it with EventGhost, but to be honest, I'd prefer to use your approach as it is much more simple (an thus elegant). I can pair the Logitech box with the W7, and apparently is the same as the BD remote, but something is not working. Instead of a START + ENTER combination, it has a buttom to connect, and the light starts to blink until it is paired. I am pretty sure that many people on this forum would be gratefull if you are able to capture the BT keys from this device. I bought one dongle for me and it was a matter of hours until some friends ordered several. It's about 35 euros, and perfect to control the BluRay in the PS3 from a single remote, so, why not using it for the PS3. I ordered 2 so far (one for the PS3, one for the Revo) and thinking on using another for a MAC (I have to test it) If you don't see the utility, I will say you another application, probably very common... I have a Sony Flat TV on my living room, connected thru an HDMI to the AV/Reveiver, and a lot of electronic there (A Wii console, an old S-VHS cassette player, an cable receiver, and I have a computer on my office room (a wall appart). I had an unused HDMI output on the computer there, so I decided to buy a cheap 10 meters HDMI cable and connect it to my AV receiver on the living room, on a free HDMI input. So, turning the input selector knob on the A/V receiver, I can see the desktop of my computer on the 40" TV in the Living room at 1080p, and can run the XBMC on the secondary display of the Computer... But, how I control XBMC? Personally, I use a BT keyboard, but it would be SUPERB if I could pair the Logitech PS3 adapter with the computer, place the IR sensor in the Living room, besides the A/V receiver, and use a Harmony remote from my coach to turn everything on and control it? I personally would pay for it!!! Regards PS3 adapter + harmony works fine in Mac - palmero - 2010-03-26 01:26 Just a quick update. I have tested the Logitech PS3 adapter on Mac (Snow Leopard running on a intel iMac), using Remote Buddy. First test: Using the Sony BD Remote. The Remote Buddy software pairs the device and recognizes it as a SONY PS3 BD remote. Working flawlessly on XBMC (even changes subtitles and audio stream, aspect ratio... great) Second test: Using Logitech PS3 adapter. It is recognizes as a SONY PS3 BD remote. Exactly the same... And it works exactly the same! Plus now I can asign the volume buttons of the remote to control the A/V receiver and another button to change DSP sound... Conclusions: For a MAC, the Logitech PS3 adapter is like a Sony PS3 BD remote, same in PS3, so it should be the same on Windows... or not? I only have tested this with Windows 7 64 bits (Home Premium at home, Ultimate at work), and now in a Mac (and of course, with the PS3 itself). I will test it on XP to see if there is any change... and it is a problem related to W7 Will keep you posted. Update: Tested on Windows XP, using both the broadcom Stack with the integrated BT (VAIO Laptop) and with a Microsoft Bluetooth stack using a 2 USD dongle from dealextreme... Both cases, SONY PS3 works fine, but Logitech does not work. It pairs, but after that it does not respond to IR commands.... Any idea? Thanks! - mzst - 2010-05-05 18:04 Thank you very much! yesterday i bought the remote and it works like a charm. i played around with it a litle bit and started to configurate the remote actions, when i noticed that there are some keyboard actions that are not listed in the drop down menu of the PS3 Remote Aplication (for exemple "backslash"). is there a way to add the missing keyboard actions or do i have to modify the .xml file of the xbmc? also, what keys are the "Media_NextTrack", "Media_Stop", etc? and can i manage the windows volume inside the xbmc, like with my hp IR remote? or is it not possible? i use windows xp btw @superarcan: do you still need those icons? i never made some but i could try ![]() Thanks! - sIRwa2 - 2010-05-06 22:19 Quote:i noticed that there are some keyboard actions that are not listed in the drop down menu of the PS3 Remote Aplication (for exemple "backslash"). Well the keyboard list was taken from Cheeta's laptop layout, hence the strange media functions. and im not at my mediacenter atm but backlash should be amongst the options, maybe its listed under a different name.. (glyph) ? @superarcan: so far i think the programe runs fine, it did crash (disappear) sometimes.. no clue why though - broseff - 2010-05-06 23:24 Hey all apologise in advance im sure this is a newb question I have set up the ps3 remote, its recognised (thanks to bluesolei) and generally works great. the problem is that when i hold down the ps button for some reason windows media centre opens up. so im having to take out the batteries to save them when im not using it i guess the key short cut i have isnt the right one to disconnect the blue tooth device. is this simply a matter of changing the keycode in the ps3 remote aplication, and if so to what? any help would be greatly appriciated, its a small problem but sooo frustrating cheers - mzst - 2010-05-06 23:25 nope, found nothing...the "O" also doesnt work, if you select it it turns into a 95....anyways, its not that bad, i just didnt wanted to mess with the keyboard.xml.... i didn't tested all of the keys, only the ones in the default .xml of xbmc here's a list of all available keys of the aplication and the default actions of XBMC: (haven't tested all yet, and some actions are probably missing because i took these from the wiki list, wich is incomplete) Ctrl----------------------(None) Alt-----------------------(None) Shift---------------------(None) "---None---"-------------(None) Esc----------------------Home menu (remembering the last menu-position when you return to it) Backspace----------------Parent Directory Tab-----------------------Toggles fullscreen modes (either visualisation or video playback) Return--------------------Select Spacebar-----------------Pause Page_Up------------------Page Up Page_Down---------------Page Down End-----------------------Shutdown XBMC Home--------------------- Arrow_Left----------------Left Arrow_Up------------------Up Arrow_Right ---------------Right Arrow_Down---------------Down Print_Screen-------------- Insert --------------------- Delete--------------------removes item from library after confirmation NUMPAD_0----------------0 NUMPAD_1----------------1 NUMPAD_2----------------2 NUMPAD_3----------------3 NUMPAD_4----------------4 NUMPAD_5----------------5 NUMPAD_6----------------6 NUMPAD_7----------------7 NUMPAD_8----------------8 NUMPAD_9----------------9 Math_Multiply------------- Math_Add-----------------Volume Up Math_Subtract------------Volume Down Math_Decimal------------- Math_Divide--------------- F1------------------------(None) F2------------------------(None) F3------------------------(None) F4------------------------(None) F5------------------------(None) F6------------------------(None) F7------------------------(None) F8------------------------(None) F9------------------------(None) F10-----------------------(None) F11-----------------------(None) F12-----------------------(None) SemiColon----------------- Equals_Sign--------------- Comma--------------------Skip Previous Hyphen------------------- Period---------------------Skip Next Foward_Slash---- ---------- Single_Quote--------------- Media_NextTrack----------- Media_PreviousTrack------- Media_Stop---------------- Media_PlayPause----------- Left_Windows-------------- Right_Windows------------- A-------------------------- B-------------------------- C--------------------------Context Menu D-------------------------- E-------------------------- F--------------------------FastForward G-------------------------- H--------------------------- I---------------------------Media Info J--------------------------- K--------------------------- L---------------------------Cycle subtitles M--------------------------Activate OSD Player Controls N-------------------------- O--------------------------Displays CPU usage and video diagnostic information (doesn't work!!)
