mymovies.xml in the same folder as the movie.

AND latest xbmc for mac certainly does not contain it. unless you built from svn saturday+

spiff, trailers are not really used. I talked to Brian from mymovie while I implemented the feature because I wanted to support them too. That's why it's left out.
Don't remember anything else missing?

Spiff:

How would I build from SVN on Saturday for the Mac? Any tips?

Bump maybe?

- spiff - 2008-11-20

this thread might help on this subject-

I'm asking the same thing here

So could you actually apply this to the XBMC for the Mac? Since all of my films are already catalogued in My Movies I just want to point XBMC to those .XML files.

I'm not a coder so I was just wondering if anyone out there can patch the XBMC for the MAC with these My Movie patches.

Thanks.

So ive noticed this has been implemented and was wondering would it be fully available in the next version?

- ultrabrutal - 2008-11-26

What do you mean by "fully available"?

- AaronG85 - 2008-11-27

will u be able to use it in the next version or can i already use itHuh

Goto:

http://www.mediafire.com/xbmc

and download the latest win build with MM support :-)

- iansilv - 2008-12-08

but will that work for those of us on a mac? Can anyone set this up for those of us on macs?

Hi ultrabrutal,

I would like to thank you for doing MyMovies scraper!Big Grin

I have one question though: can xbmc somehow show collection number (MM library number) from mymovie.xml? It is the (only?) way to identify offline DVDs.Huh

Thanks in advance,
P.

Using MyMovies with XBMC - deh2k7 - 2008-12-10

Hi all,

I'm about to start archiving my entire DVD collection, and I'm looking to use MyMovies to do so.

I understand that some work was done so that XBMC can recognize the MM information. In order to make sure that XBMC can properly recognize the info from MM, what is the best way to rip the DVD's and folder structure?

Currently, I plan on ripping the entire DVD, using VIDEO_TS (I hear ISO isn't such a good idea for DVD's).

Is there anything specific I need to do to ensure that XBMC will be able to read the info tags that MM creates?

Thanks!
D

Hi D, there is a very useful tool (created by Fekker) that will read your IMDb MyMovies page and automatically create a folder structure for you with NFO files containing the IMDb title ID. You can then install his MovieInfoPlus (MIP)application, point it to the path where you created these folders and then get it to retrieve full IMDb details and get posters and fanart for use in XBMC.
Note that you need to use an SVN install of XBMC.

Both tools can be found at SourceForge at this link:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=241717

MIP is still in develpment and currently only supports movies but tv show support is due to be added shortly.

I've used them both with my collection and am very pleased with the data they retrieved and the time they saved me. One thing to beware of with the Conversion Utilities is that when it creates folders and content it picks up the original foreign language title of foreign movies and doesn't handle ampersands very well. Hopefully that will only take you 2 minutes to tidy up though.
