ExpatError: not well-formed (invalid token): line 621, column 17

Looks like your "EyeTV Archive.xml" file contains some invalid token.
Could you send me that file?
It is under the EyeTV Archive directory (you might not see it with the finder).

Hello,

I am sorry if the mistake is on my behalf.
But I tried to do my best to read everything thoroughly and follow the hints.
But I still find the error message 'make sure the selected folder is writeable'.
Of course, the Archive folder on the remote machine is completeley free for all users.

My Settings:
EyeTV on a Mac mini in the network,
AppleTV 1. Gen running XBMC 11.0 (german language)
EyeTV parser 2.1.1

When using SMB to connect to the EyeTV Archive Path, I get the above message.
I understand that I have to add a new source and I did so even using two ways:

Settings>media sources
Settings>file manager

But neither of these new definitions appears in the EyeTV parser settings!
I only get Home folder, NFS (with no effect at all), Recovery, Root file system and SMB (with the effect I described above).

I must admit I am not familiar with linux and I don't know how to edit or even get access to the appropriate xml file manually.

Any Idea what I can do?

Viele Grüße
:-) Dirk

That's something I wanted to fix a while ago. The folder actually doesn't need to be writeable.
I'll push a new release that should fix this problem.
If you don't want to wait, you can try removing the 'option="writeable"' in the plugin.video.eyetv.parser/resources/settings.xml file.

Thanks very much! It's a relief that I did not do something stupid. Wink
Great that you will fix this.

But sorry for the next stupid questione: I am not able to find the settings.xml file. I connected to the atv via sftp and looked through all the folders without finding anything like it. It seems like the folder structure differs between the various hardware. But can anyone give a hint where I have to look?

On AppleTV 1st gen, it should be under /Users/frontrow/Library/Application Support/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.eyetv.parser/resources.
If you run linux, it is ~/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.eyetv.parser/resources (~ is your home directory).

When I go there, I only find this:

Code:
/home
/home/atv
/home/atv/.bash_history
/home/atv/.bash_logout
/home/atv/.bashrc
/home/atv/.nano_history
/home/atv/.profile
/home/atv/.sudo_as_admin_successful
/home/atv/configure
/home/atv/disable_updates
/home/atv/enable_updates
/home/atv/info
/home/atv/scripts

No .xmbc folder :-(
Or is this just the internal HDD structure? *confused* I have crystal ubuntu running on a USB stick.

Look under /root.
.xbmc should be there for crystalbuntu.

Blush
Of course you are right, thanks. Smile
Obviously I could not see the invisible files - I thought I had turned that on.

I succeeded changing the settings and now I don't get the 'writable' error any more. :Cool

But now I find the next problem:
'Could not parse "EyeTV Archive.xml" Check your EyeTV Archive path.'

I checked the path: EyeTV Archive.xml is definitely lying there. The permissions also seem to be correct: everyone can read and write.
What could be the problem.

What exactly did you put in the "EyeTV Archive path" setting?
Did you put a path that ends with ".../EyeTV Archive/"?

Yes, exactly. It is the regular eyetv archive folder on my mini. The Name is unchanged.

Hey, now it works!
I just tried re-entering the path to the Eye-TV-Archive. And suddenly it worked. Tha'ts really great now!

The videos are not smooth but I hope that's due to the HD video quality that's too big for the TV. I have the crystalHD-Card already here, waiting to be installed. Hopefully that will help.
And I permanently have subtitles - I look for a way to get rid of them :-)

Thank you very much for the support and for the plugin anyway!

EDIT:
Seems like deactivating the subtitles is a bigger problem. This is not a global setting, is it? Is there a checkbox to show or hide the subtitles in EyeTV-recordings somewhere? These seem to be the text clips for the hearing-disabled people that are permanently visible.

Viele Grüße
:-) Dirk

Good, thanks for letting me now.

For subtitles, look here. You can disable them via the OSD.
Except if they are "burnt" in your video of course.

Good, another thing learned. Big Grin
Thanks for that hint.

Everything's fine now. Great thing to be able to watch EyeTV recordings on the TV.
Thank you very much for this great plugin. Smile

Would it be possible to add support for adding the plugin to favourites? (Favourites.xml)

Using the latest v2.1.2 on an openelec build.

Trying to use this plugin together with the "Advanced Wake On Lan" addon, but can't make it work...

Not sure I understand your problem.
I just tried on my iMac. Right click on the plugin -> Add to favorites, and that's it.
It's added to favourites.xml.
