XBMC 16475, Ati HD3200, 8.11 drivers. I can see 1920x1080xdesktoprefreshrate(fullscreen) and 1920x1080x50 and 1920x1080x60 but auto adjust doesn't work at all...

I have NVIDIA 7100 (driver 178.*), XBMC 16475. I can only see 1920x1080 @ (the refreshrate chosen in windows. No other.
I have Nvidia 8800gt with the latest driver and a samsung lcd monitor supporting 60 and 75 hz. It works pretty well over DVI connection selecting between the two refresh rates, but...
My Media Center equipped with onborad Nvida 9400 does not work at all with Samsung 42" LCD TV over HDMI. The refresh rates just don't show up.
Maybe it is the DVI connection te problem. Tomorow i will try my working 8800gt withd DVI/HDMI adapter to test the LCD TV if it works.

Nope, same problem with VGA connection, 8800GT with latest certified drivers.
Only the currently selected desktop resolution shows up. All the others are standard EDID crap, useless for all practical extents.

Strange is that the very same hardware i have all working win the Linux version. There the only thing i have to disable is Dynamic Twinview.
But in the linux version i can't get hdmi audio working with nvidia 9400 integrated.

My nVidia control panel detects, correctly, a single monitor. I'm not using dual monitor.

What is relly strange that i get different refresh rate values if i use my LCD's HDMI 1 or HDMI 2.
I am rellally confused about this.
It would be good to know from Devs how the guisettings.xml is filled in when starting xbmc. I think this is the key point when some things go wrong with certaing setups.

I'll also add that, by forcing manually the refresh rate, through a remote key bound to a commandline, I confirm far smoother performance when playing back at 24Hz, as opposed to 48Hz (the opposite of what I get through DirectShow players).

I checked the situation with AMD 690G integrated videocard, XP SP3 and with this setup the same LCD TV (which is not working OK with Nvidia 9400) works fine. The refresh rates are detected normally.
So it looks like a specific problem with Nvidia hardware (or driver). It strengthens my suspect that it could be in connection with nview or dualview function in NV drivers.
Can someone confirm it working with ATI hardware ?

For me it DID work with 3200 integrated, but DID NOT with NVIDIA 9400.
Have you checked the auto adjust refresh rate in video settings ? And are you using the latest SVN ?

Vista SP1 32bit, latest SVN, CCC 8.11, option set in XBMC settings, desktop at 1920x1080@60Hz (for example). XBMC set to 1920x1080@60(fullscreen) setting. starting 24fps material, XBMC blanks screen, something happens and then I am again at 60Hz and video is stuttering of course. in logs there is refresh switch mentioned, it just doesn't happen.
I have heaps of screen resolutions in XBMC settings, just one that says (fullscreen) and it's always the refresh rate that I have my windows desktop set on. vsync disabled in XBMC and it's also disabled in CCC.
Interesting thing is that when I choose same resolution (1920x1080) but different refreshrate (without fullscreen added) - screen blanks and then I am again at my windows desktop refreshrate. So it seems XBMC has some problem with switching refreshrates. I am a bit clueless here...

I only tested HD3200 on XP SP3. There it worked. The refresh rates my TV supports showed correctly at the XBMC screen settings and the switch was working when i started a video. I tested it with 1080p 24 and 50 Hz.
On Nvidia the correct refresh rates are not even options at XBMC screen settings so this way there is never a chance that it could work.
Are your LCD refresh rates show correctly at XBMC screen settings ?

they are. I have all refreshrates available that my Samsung LCD allows. But as I stated before - changing to them doesn't change refreshrate at all - I am stuck at (fullscreen) refreshrate (that I set in desktop).
