Me too. http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/5466 - LolitaRainking - 2008-12-15 dpassent Wrote:well. i sorted it out. for my ATI HD3200 i had to enable vsync for every ap in ATI CCC and disable it completly in XBMC. now me happy What do you mean for every ap? I'm been having a hell of a time this weekend . I threw out ubuntu again and tried windows, but I can only play 24p material without jitter. - dpassent - 2008-12-15 there is setting in ATI CCC regarding vsync. it has 4 states 1. off totally 2. off but on if app wants it 3. on but off if app doesn't want it 4. always on I put slider in the "always on" position, and I disabled vsync in XBMC. Now XBMC switches my refreshrate according to fps of the video and I have no jitter or tearing whatsoever. I still have to check subtitles (displaying subs was broken some builds ago) - but other than that - I hit my honeypot WinXP SP3, latest ATI Drivers (8.12 I believe...) DP - LolitaRainking - 2008-12-15 dpassent Wrote:there is setting in ATI CCC regarding vsync. it has 4 states Hey! That's exactly what I've done! And I can still not play PAL-material without tearing. Which build of XBMC are you running? On pal material, xbmc switches to 50 hz on telly (which is correct) but it jitters like parkinson. 24p-material is no problem. It even plays well in 60hz since enabling vsync in the drivers and disabling it in xbmc. Too bad subtitles doesn't work while auto-switching. - dpassent - 2008-12-15 16501 as it's the last one that has ac3/dts passthru working for me... I run XBMC at 50Hz so with PAL it's noswitch. 24fps switches to 24Hz and NTSC switches to 60Hz like it should. DP - LolitaRainking - 2008-12-15 dpassent Wrote:16501 as it's the last one that has ac3/dts passthru working for me... Hm. Maybe I'll try setting the desktop top 50hz then, and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip! - dpassent - 2008-12-15 the one cant have everything... subtitles are not working... DP - LolitaRainking - 2008-12-15 Dunno what happened, but all of the sudden I can playback pal-material. Maybe it's some kind of mind trick, but I think setting the desktop to 50hz worked!? That's... interesting. - kalle99 - 2008-12-16 LolitaRainking Wrote:Dunno what happened, but all of the sudden I can playback pal-material. Same for me, Finally - dpassent - 2008-12-16 I sorted out ac3 passthru and I am running latest SVN. I run desktop in 24Hz now. Its switching to 50Hz (PAL) and 60Hz(NTSC) without problems. I set it up this way because I need subtitles only in 24fps material. And we all know there is a bug. So I am all sorted out now DP - Louike - 2008-12-16 has a ticket been issue'd for the broken subtitles yet? - mindweaver - 2008-12-16 Louike Wrote:has a ticket been issue'd for the broken subtitles yet? Yes, I believe that a ticket for subtitles getting broken when using auto refresh is created. But there is no ticked for subtitles in .rar being broken. - PolliSoft - 2008-12-17 If you need subtitles as badly as me, the following works. Get the latest Areascout branch build (16499) here: MegaUpload RapidShare In this verison, .ass and .ssa subtitles work together with "Adjust refresh rate". You have to convert your subtitles to .ass/.ssa, personally I prefer AegiSub. There, it is easy to chose subtitle styles etc nad re-save them as .ass. - Louike - 2008-12-17 Cool thanks! |
