Another XBMC Contest - messopotamia - 2008-12-12

This contest is just to answer a few questions and explain how a skin could be created. I assume for XBMC experienced people it will be easy.

I think you mean xml? The skinning engine doesn't use any python as far as I can tell.

nevermind -- reading the problem statement it sounds like you want an insanely huge script, not just a skinning solution.

Right now we are just looking for an approach.

Hi there,

The basic facts in your competition are incorrect.

1. XBMC can already do as you propose. I offer cover flow and/or watzen's modification to PM3 as proof.

2. I will not sign up to your website and answer half a million questions and give my personal information to you in order to get the $1000 that I clearly would get, given that I wrote the code that allows such a feature to exist. I strongly suggest you thus remove said competition, as otherwise you are giving the money away for nothing.

3. I will, however, on behalf of team XBMC, gladly accept the $1500 you appear to be giving away as a donation should you wish to show good will to the project that you appear to be wanting to use for some commercial project.

4. Further, if you would like to engage me (or others on team XBMC, or within the XBMC skinning community) in a consultation role in order to find out whether or not XBMC supports a particular feature, or can be modified in order to do so, I suggest you approach us directly, rather than throwing money about without doing some basic investigation first.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Isn't this just an advanced form of spam?
