(True - Quite Stable) Possible to run XBMC on Server 2003? - nukedeath - 2008-12-13

Hello!
I was wondering if you can run XBMC on Windows "Server" 2003. Confused

Got an P4 2.8ghz /2gig ram with a Quadro NVS 285 running as a fileserver, and i want to turn it to a HTPC because its close to my Projector.

"SOLVED"

Had to copy the strange DLL to windows/system to get it starting. But then again, i had to do that in Vista also.

Got quite a shocker that a P4 at 2.8 could run 720p!

Well no, runned Ubuntu 8.10, but it crashed XBMC all the time. So reverted to good old WIndows Server after this post xD.

And Jesus Christ, It's stable as a rock Laugh

I found the same result when I tried XBMC on Ubuntu about 6 months ago. I went to XP SP3 32bit (using nLite) and have had zero issues.

welcome to the club
