I had some playback issues the other day that I thought I'd bring to the community. A few movies I tried to watch (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Ghostbusters) had the video freeze but the audio kept going. This happened about 20 minutes into Ghostbusters and about 15 seconds into Lock Stock. Since the later was so early in the movie, I tried it about 5 times and each time the video froze on the same(ish?) frame of the studio logos.

This bug is particularly frustrating since we don't yet have seeking capabilities, and I don't really want to rewatch the same 20 min of Ghostbusters just to see if it happens again. I'm in the US running the latest T3CH and Crichton's version of the script back on post #176.

And as always, thanks for the amazing plugin! Keep up the good work Big Grin

Is there any version of this script that doesn't freeze upon the ending of the stream? I've tried about 4 different versions (currently using CrashX's) and every one freezes at the end of shows. I have to get up and restart my Xbox each time.
I'm eight and a half months pregnant so getting up every 20-30 minutes to reboot is more than annoying. I'd appreciate anyone who can fix this/tell me how to make it work!!! Nod
I've been using TvShack instead but its a poor substitute quality-wise and it likes to drop streams randomly. Stare

If you have the latest t3ch build, then it should solve your problem. To see which version you have, click down the right thumbstick and then go to Info. I have the one compiled on December 30, 2008 and it no longer has the freezing problem that I had on the previous build. Just google t3ch or use the t3ch update script that comes with the default installation. I'm not nor can never become pregnant and still get annoyed at having to do a hard reboot. This should work for you.

Grabbed mine from post 176
http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=261994&postcount=176

and I have mine set to 700 using this post from 216
http://www.xbmc.org/forum/showpost.php?p=264063&postcount=216

I have zero issues so far on my Xbox and everything seems to play just fine.

I am running the Hulu plugin from this post: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=261994&postcount=176 in XBMC 8.10 svn 17139 for x86 intrepid. For the most part, the plugin works. But most of the time when I get to the screen where I select between H264, high, and medium quality streams, I have to select the high quality stream several times before the stream fully opens. Often the stream get to ~2% and then quits.

Here is my log: http://pastebin.com/m439510d

I noticed quite a few instances of the following error:

ERROR: Unable to load: /home/xbmc/.xbmc/plugins/video/Hulu/resources/settings.xml, Line 0
Failed to open file

and

DEBUG: CDVDPlayerAudio:: Discontinuty - was:24307947.342975, should be:24297671.955816, error:-10275.387159

Any idea what's going on?

Strange...I keep my t3ch updated (I thought). I downloaded/installed the version from Dec 30 but it's still showing that I use the Dec 19 build even if I switch it manually in the settings.
Doing it totally manually now. I'll try it and see how it works.
Thanks!

All fixed Laugh
Hulu is back to being my favorite plugin.

- kizer - 2009-01-23

Hmmm, I posted yesterday that I was not having any issues, but now I'm not getting any play back and it freezes my Xbox when I try to load a video.

Go figure huh? Wink Hahahaha

I wonder if its a ISP or regional thing when it does and doesn't work?

Try my modification to hulu Plugin ... You should get better matches for streams .... Also once you configure plugin for the stream quality then you won't be prompted again. Posted in this thread somewhere ..

rwparris2, or anyone working on their version:

Just wanted to let y'all know that subscriptions and queues are listed in extremely scrapable fashion at a website

The subscription part is done, just not in svn yet.

The queue feed is pretty much unusable though, as it takes FOREVER to update, and I imagine anyone adding items to their queue would want it fairly quickly. When I added a few items it took hours for it to show up there. I'll have to scrape the other page that has all that crap listed.

Oh, btw, if anyone wants to grab a snapshot of what I'm working on, you can get it from svn here:
http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-hulu/source/checkout

Search isn't done yet, but I think everything else that you can access is, so let me know of any problems by using the issues tracker.

I'll put it in the official svn once I get a few more things working with it.

- hrcolb0 - 2009-01-24

actually, i beg to differ about the queue part. All the new episodes of your subscriptions get added to your queue in a newest first list. That way you have a "new episodes" function of all your subscriptions in one place.

- hrcolb0 - 2009-01-24

Checked out the new plugin, and wow! it feels much more intuitive, and the icons are killer. I also really dig the dialog box to select the stream playback level instead of loading up the stream links like before.

A couple of questions:

I didn't see the subscription section in xbmc ( i did enter my login and pass in the hulu_login.py) Is it implemented yet?

Also, is there a way to set the stream playback level? I thought i read you guys had that figured out also.

Again, really amazing.

- rwparris2 - 2009-01-24

Logging in doesn't really do anything yet. I haven't committed anything with subscription because logging in doesn't do anything.

I'll take another look at the queue feed.

I'll add setting the stream playback level, someone already posted a version with that I think (?) but if not it is trivial, I just haven't done it yet.

I should also mention that there hasn't been any progress whatsoever on getting the h264 streams to work. I've tried a number of things, but none of them work.
