One thing I do want to point out. Were the commercials intentionally removed? Or was it something to do with the RMTP protocol, and the inability to switch streams?

I have been a firm believe in Hulu ever since I discovered it via Veoh. One thing that I really like is that you get access to all these great shows but you technically give back by viewing the commercials. Is there away to view the commercials and make sure to give back to this service. Granted if there is a technology constraint that is understandable, I am just kinda curious.
As a Flash programmer I would guess that the commercials were not intentionally removed. The Flash files has Cue marks and the Flash player in Hulu would read the Cue marks and ActionScript would pause the video for 30 seconds play another video then restart you main movie. Since the XBMC player is not a Flash player the Cue marks are ignored. I would say this is by accident and I hope this is not an issue in the future.

Also some users may have issues playing Hulu videos (delays and stopped video). Note the Hulu requires 2.5 Mbs internet speed to run the video. So if you have a 3 Mbs connection which you never get the actual connection speed. So most likely you have a 2.5 Mbs connection and if you have any network delays you will get poor video. There are many sites that can test your connection speed. I had a problem with my router, got a new router and my speed improved.

I love the idea of this plugin and all the work that went into it. I've been having problems getting videos to actually run though. Whenever I click on a video, I get the loading screen and nothing happens and XBMC locks up completely. I tried searching this thread but didn't see anything regarding this problem and the newest plugin version. Any help would be great.

Also, has is there a website for the development of this plugin? Seems like by far the most popular XBMC plugin. It would be nice to have a place to go to find updates and info rather than trying to search through almost 50 pages of a forum.

I am having the same issue, running xbmc 8.10 on vista 32bit.

make sure you are using the latest upgrade (posted about many times in this thread) also check out the xbmc-addons svn for the official version that is most likely to be the most robust. My addon to the plugin works for me, and I thought others might want to use it.

P.S. for those wondering, I did not fix any login problems that others are most likely working on. That is way over my head. I just used the rss feed that anyone can view using someone's login name.

I'm using what I think is the newest version found below, with XBMC 8.10 on XP Pro. Should I be using a different version?

hrcolb0 Wrote:Subscriptions have been added (sorta).

The whole plugin is available at

http://code.google.com/p/xbmc-hulu-subscription/downloads/list

It reads in your show subscriptions from your subscriptions rss feed. You must enter your login name in the plugin settings (accessed from the contextual menu when you highlight the plugin).

Man, many thanks to rwparris, and all those who helped create the hulu plugin.

You need newer XBMC than 8.10. This has been mentioned many times.

- ksufinger - 2009-02-06

Yes, 8.10 (Atlantis) does not support rtmp

Newer windows SVN builds here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=35452

Hulu User Name Password - webmaven - 2009-02-06

How do I enter my user name and password for Hulu. The post talked about a menu from the plugin list but I can't seem to find this menu.

I keep seeing people talking about enter logins and passwords. You just use the plugin you don't have to enter a login or password.

Unless I'm just lucky, but I've never done anything other than use it.

highlight the plugin>context menu>plugin settings.

read a few pages back (i know it's along thread, but I do mean just a few pages) and you'll realize you don't want to enter a username & password.
