i personally have no use for this, but it's great to see what you've done for xbmc Smile

Very nice.

If I ever decide to configure my tv tuner again this will be quite useful.

Don't wanna sound mean here, but can you even record stuff from a DirecTV or Dish box anymore with a tuner card? Last I checked, all providers are encrypting their signals . . . . and the tuner cards obviously don't decrypt those signals. Just a quick question.

nice, thanks!

Thank you Analogue!
Is there any way of this working under XBMC for Windows ?

Cheers

recording from satellite - miked2024 - 2009-01-05

you connect your tv-tuner card (on the mythbackend) to the directv/dish receiver . the directv/dish decodes the signal from the satellite and your tuner card picks that up on the output. there are scripts for myth to control boxes via IR (and sometimes serial).

Great job, I made it availbale via our installer Passion-XBMC script

That makes logical sense, but I wonder if all channels will work, even the HD ones, etc . . .

I'll reinstall my ATI 650 HD and give it a shot later tonight.

EDIT - Didn't realize this code isn't available for Windows yet . . .

HD capture - miked2024 - 2009-01-05

for HD capture from a satellite tuner, your only option is the Hauppage HD PVR which captures via component.

That sucks. Sad Looks like I'll just need to sell my 650 HD lol.

YES! youre the reason for stuffing a dvb card in my linux media server ... im searching for ages for a solution since my linux machine is on 24/7.

as frontend im using xbmc on a xp box.... will report back if ill get it up and running on windows!

thanks a bunch ..

- Swifty - 2009-01-06

Mason, I tried (albeit very quickly) last night and it got to 'stage 2' of the running the script under windows then complained about missing msvcrt iirc - I'm going to take another look at this later, but if you do have any luck under Windows please update us Smile

would do .. right now im struggeling with mythtv and my dvbs card ... since i had it running unter win so far. mythv is up an running, but the integration of my card seems to be the problem right now.

btw, why is this threat in the skinning sektion?

I am also trying the mythbox on a windows system (xp)
I get the 2No module named msvcrt"
Hope someone has an idea.
Like to use primary xbmc with the mythbackend.
Linux with mythtv is some how not working well on newer systems as frontend.
