I'm new to the XBMC community, but i'm really enjoying everything thus this far. But having 300 replies just in anticipation is pretty impressive to me.

I wonder how much hits per day this topic is getting. I can hardly wait...

What can we expect for 03/03/09? I know we won't see the release on that date, but hopefully we will see a good preview of it.

One small thing... On the second image, we see the cover of "Shoot em Up" selected and the background is "007 Quantum of Solance". Will it be possible to have the background be the same as the cover? That's how I do with my fanart on MediaStream and I like it a lot.

If the way it works now is any indication, it probably won't be that way. Right now, it doesn't constantly change the fanart as you're flipping through your movies. But once you pause on a movie or select it, it changes it to the movie's fanart.

not sure if its 3= just march, or 3rd of march... or what. I guess if the first and third come and go, we'll know it will be march at some point.

We've waited this long though... can wait a bit more

3rd March - released to testers
30th March - released to public

If all goes to plan.

Ooops, totally missed this....

The fanart does change as you browse now thanks to the new image control. It fades in and out without any delay, or any real impact on browsing performance.

Thx a lot for your reply. Glad to hear.
I hope that you have a good surprise for us in the 03/03. Maybe a video preview Wink

Anyway... Thx for the fantastic work. And I do agree with someother people. I wish I could donate something for it. (I'm donating to XBMC and I wish do donate to your skin too).

That sir, is excellent news. Hows the processor usage, with background rotation going?

Excellent news about the decrease in fanart delay! Should be cool to check out.

Forgive me if this has already been asked or is a stupid question, but will there still be a "regular" info view? Not the enhanced poster view but something similar to what is shown now when you select the movie. I guess when the plot window shows up, fanart fades in, and semi-enlarged thumbnail?

I havnt seen a screenshot of just the regular plot view yet. The improved info view looks amazing, I just don't like how it gives you the option to change thumbs and such.

Thanks!

All the info has been consolidated into those fullscreen pages now - with all the unreliability and extra code of the old pop-up info, it just wasn't justifiable. Is it just that you don't like having those edit functions available to everyone? I can make them optional so they never appear....

As for fanart, I can only speak for the performance on my machines. The HTPC is a fairly modest XP machine with a 2.6ghz Core2Duo, 2gb RAM and a 7000 series Nvidia card. The performance on that is universally smooth as silk. Then there's the Windows 7 machine I do all the work on, which is a top flight gaming rig but doesn't run XBMC all that well. There's a lot of juddering and loads of delays, which I put down to streaming all the content over smb. That and Windows 7, maybe.

So on dedicated hardware I doubt you'll have any trouble at all.

i wish to become a tester.
i use an iMac 2.4 C2D with 3GB Ram and a Radeon 2400XT.
The Software is Plex. I use it every Day an 10.5.6 and sometimes on 10.6 (it runs great)
So what do i have to do to become a tester for the skin

Are there any view like the "Media Preview" in Mediasteam in the excellent Stark skin?
