600x600 is kind of the unspoken standard in album art world.

Make sure you album art searchers use the greatest grabber known..
http://album-art.sourceforge.net/

Get fancy and sync it to your foobar library for automated goodness.

Okay...thanks for the info...I wonder how the new Aeon will use Album Art etc?

mrt2 Wrote:In theory you could use the bookmark feature to setup your own chapters much like DVD's/Blu-Rays have chapters... I'm sure most of us have movies which are single mkv's and not ISO thus we have no chapters and browsing to parts of the movie is as hassle... this would make it much more 'DVD/Blu-ray' like...

some of my mkv files have chapters and xbmc honors them .. i'm hoping in the future more groups will support this and add them by default

will Stark have a carousel view for games like in the music section?

For this first version it'll have a uniform set of views for everything, but with occasional options and tweaks for specific media types. There's an entirely unique TV section in the works but it's far from where I want it to be at the moment, so it's been sidelined for the sake of getting things finished. I'll return to it sometime after March and have another go. So yes, whatever view exists for one thing will be available for the others.

To be honest, the TV show implementation that's in there now is far from ideal, but better than the original Aeon's. It looks nice enough, anyway. The trick is getting some of the ghastly artwork the scraper pulls down to play nicely with everything else. The "proper" TV section, if and when it arrives, will involve a significant change to thumbnails anyway; we might have to reconsider the size and quality we're accustomed to.

Very cool to hear that you are spending some time on the TV section. Even if we don't see it for a while. This section is my only dislike from the original AEON. I really liked Media Streams attention to this area, and look forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve for the TV shows.

Billyad has added a "create thumbnail" option to his media companion program. At the moment it is still just a work in progress but it has a lot of potential. One nice thing is that currently the thumbs are captured and created at full frame size. In a future release you will have the option to set a capture size. This could be a huge help if you want to do something more with Tv episode thumbs. That way you won't be limited to the 400x300 limit that they currently have on thetvdb.

After these two pictures I am even more hyped.

OSD is one of the reasons I chose Mediastream over Aeon. These look great though! I can't wait for Stark.

I cannot wait either!

Hrm... but I thought Media Companion already created thumbs for your contentConfused? I mean isn't that what .tbn is? What am I missing?

Yes but it's only taken 5 seconds into the video (a lot of the time I get the opening credits) and it doesn't work for MKVs.
