The question to the setting-lock is: Is this an issue/request to the Aeon-Stark skin or to a new version of XBMC?

I think it's kind of silly to scroll through the same artwork when selecting different songs from the same album. One picture is enough. Oo

Couldn’t agree more!

I also like the feature in Mediastream where you can hide tumbs in list view for music since when scrolling through artist there is no need for any thumbs at all in my opinion.

However the skin looks amazing! Thanks for all your hard work with this!

This. Is. Insane Shocked
References to The Pogues, Army of Darkness and people with intimate burning sensations doesn't hurt your cred either. You're obviously a man of good taste.

Now, next for Stark.

Hardware.

Obviously you can't have an old lumpy xbox or the design vacuum that is ordinary computer cases, with this. That would be a crime against WAF.
I'm expecting you to develop a new STARK htpc case for nvidia ION, that will do this software justice. I'll give you until the end of the month to give me the blueprints. IKEA assemblement accepted. Wink

Although, even if it was an option somewhere in the settings menu it wouldn't be a big deal, the only time I really make changes is between library/file mode when adding/deleting sources.

Done. You can only really lock that upper menu, though, as the context menu settings are hardcoded into XBMC. Pretty sure you can disable those elsewhere, though. Are there any buttons you'd actually want kept - flatten/flow, for example?

Wow, you're the man. You work quick. Now can we get you to have a look at problem in the middle east? Big Grin

Ah, from what I witnessed people were mostly getting caught up in that whole upper menu, file/library mode switch and the layout views. And I don't really switch between them. So for me personally you could lock the whole thing and that'd be great.

Thanks for doing that sir.

djh_ Wrote:I'm aware that the multiple covers are quite unpopular. I'll see about making it so fewer are visible when there are one or two items.

I've never worked on xbmc skins, but I've done some coding to integrate Crestron systems with SqueezeCenter and I just basically take the item count and have that adjust the UI. I don't know if it could be done with xbmc, but You may be able to do something like hide the first and last icon if the item count is below 5-7 and the 1st, 2nd, 6th, & 7th if the item count is 3-5 in showcase view. Another think that would help is to not have the album art refresh when at the song within an album if that is even possible.

djh_ Wrote:I should leap in at this point and say that the strings.xml file hasn't been localised in those screens, hence the English text. If someone were to translate that file, as some people are doing now, the whole thing would be translated. The other thing of note is that the fonts haven't been optimised for international characters yet, hence the weird upper/lower case thing.

Tell you what, though, it's looks pretty wicked in Korean.

So djh_,

Do you think you can send me the strings.xml file for Aeon (I'm only asking for the .xml file, as I know that the Beta Test group is already made)? Or authorize any beta tester do send it to me. Do you think it's okay?

I can provide Portuguese (PT-BR) translation for it and I think it would be very cool to have it ready for the end of the month. I will translate it myself, and I won't redistribute the file in anyway.

funny this was my goal all along, to make xbmc couch friendly as much as the software allowed. i wanted to bury the settings options and keep the surface level stuff pretty much locked.
