I could start a new thread, no problem, problem is that my signal is too weak, so I haven't been able to test it yet myself. - SKinHD - 2009-05-30 19:45 i have having trouble to compile ffmpeg, i dont now mutch about it, si i just ask: Code: (T: XBMCLive)vdr@XBMCLive:~/src/ffmpeg$ ./configure --enable-shared --enable-gpl --enable-postproc --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libvorbis --enable-pthreads --enable-swscale --enable-libx264 --enable-libtheora --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libxvid- wocis - 2009-05-31 00:42 slacker666 Wrote:if you run the .deb package, you will be prompted for username and password, at least, that's what the developer told me when i asked him. yeah latest .deb package works great, but latest svn version (3000) looks broken. After compile, the webui doesn't accept any user/pass, even if i start up deb version, set it up and after that start svn version. And at the worst i couldn't recognize where the tvheadend store its configuration (home folder .hts obtain only xmltv config). And at least, some configurations (multiplexes frequency, and other) is hardcoded in binary I must modify src/linuxtv_muxes.h for some changes in my country...But tvheadend as is looks nice - better webui, simple compile or install (deb) than vdr. I'm looking forward to nvidia ion boxes/boards (zotac), which makes me happy - i should build cheap "tvbox" with simple box and lcd. I was thinking about some popcourn hour box before i tried xbmc Xbmc rock!

Start it with -C and the blank user gets created. Now you can log in and create new user. - bidossessi - 2009-06-03 17:12 is compiling still needed since vdr is in the jaunty repos? - wocis - 2009-06-04 15:46 bidossessi Wrote:is compiling still needed since vdr is in the jaunty repos? in ubuntu repos is 1.6.0... version we need 1.7.4> (i think) with modified streamdev. But som ppls here made their ppa repos, where you should take modified .deb packages and it works out of the box. I have made succesfully this setup. 1) in living room - htpc - boot from 2gb flash, network-connected to my roof-pc. On this htpc - installed xbmc live with these changes: added repo https://launchpad.net/~henningpingel/+archive/xbmc to sources.list, and updated xbmc version to 9.04~pre+pvr-api+pvrclient-vdr~hepi-intrepid7 2) roof-pc - lowcost pc with some disks (swraid), dhcp server, mail server, dvb-t cards, network/movie/music storage. On this roof-pc - installed ubuntu server 9.04 added repo https://launchpad.net/~mirak-mirak/+archive/ppa and installed modified version of vdr 1.7.7-0+ppa2 and streamdev 0.3.4~cvs20090525-ppa2 (you should install vdradmin-am from officialy ubuntu repos for "web-frontend"). i configured vdr, started. In this setup, all works out-of-the-box. You must configure vdr (channels.conf) and setup xbmc. Now i am able to watch tv in "elegant" way. I have same setup as on my htpc on an older ibm r60e notebook - which act as a mobile tv/movie/music station for my kid ![]() I'm waiting for nvidia ion (zotac boards or other boxes) to be available in our country. After that i'll change "big" htpc to this small thingies
- gerner - 2009-06-05 05:20 I'm really excited by this and plan to try it out ASAP. I've no experience with VDR though - is it possible to have VDR located on a server and have use the stream-dev plugin to stream to quiet client (hopefully an ion based one in the not too distant future )?Cheers, Alex vdr configuration - dubstar_04 - 2009-06-05 10:25 Hi guys, I spent a few hours yesterday installing vdr and I couldn't get the backed to start . Could someone suggest a decent tutorial or maybe post a quick how to ? Where does vdr log to? Many thanks, Dubstar04 Edit: It now works, I dont know what oi have done differently, but it works!! - wocis - 2009-06-05 12:56 gerner Wrote:- is it possible to have VDR located on a server and have use the stream-dev plugin to stream to quiet client (hopefully an ion based one in the not too distant future Exactly my setup. 2 xbmc clients (htpc 100mbit cable+ mobile notebook wifi) and one "roof-pc" with vdr and some disks for storage |
