- dongioia - 2009-10-11 12:29 Yes: I enabled the local loop (127.0.0.1) and all my network (192.168.1.0). Still, I get connection lost - Swifty - 2009-10-11 14:23 Hmm not sure then, you have any software firewall or anything enabled ? tail -f the vdr log while you attempt your connection from xbmc and see what's reported in there. - dongioia - 2009-10-11 15:54 The streamdev server runs well: I can connect to it via firefox, like this http://127.0.0.1:3000/MY_CHANNEL.ts By the way, nothing is reported in /var/log/messages - hepi - 2009-10-11 21:14 @dongioia: Please check the xbmc logfile in your xbmc profile folder. - splinux - 2009-10-12 08:51 @dongioia : Not sure, but I believe XBMC connects to the vdr to vdr server on port 2004, not the http server port 3000. Is your vdr to vdr server started ? Is your setting in xbmc on port 2004 ? sp - dongioia - 2009-10-12 14:58 splinux Wrote:@dongioia : Not sure, but I believe XBMC connects to the vdr to vdr server on port 2004, not the http server port 3000. Is your vdr to vdr server started ? Is your setting in xbmc on port 2004 ? There was something wrong with my vdr streamdev server. I installed the packages from Gerald's repos and everything went just fine. I must figure out the differences beacuse I use plugins non distribuited via ppa repos. Probably the key is within the patches. - jstew - 2009-10-12 18:58 This is going to be really awesome when all of the bugs are worked out and it's merged into trunk. A few observations: Sometimes, after zapping a few times, I get "channel not available". It works again after restarting XBMC. It crashes when I try to play a recording. Standard def works great, but high def (720p+) stutters severely and audio gets way out of sync with video. I'm using VDPAU as the video renderer and HD videos play just fine in XBMC. My setup is vdr-1.6.0 (gda) with an ATSC card. XBMC is the latest from hepi's PPA. - hepi - 2009-10-20 09:05 Hi, Two VDR-enthusiasts from vdr-portal.de (hotzenplotz5 and gda) offer Launchpad PPA's with VDR packages and VDR-plugins for upcoming Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic). During the last two weeks, three new PPA's were created and things might get a bit confusing to understand for those people who didn't follow all the lenghtly discussions on vdr-portal.de. The latest PPA (https://launchpad.net/~the-vdr-team/+archive/vdr-ubuntu-karmic) is basically a cooperation between hotzenplotz5 and gda where they share their packages. Because of the increasing amount of concurrent PPA's, I have created a comparison list which shows the contents of the different PPA's next to each other. If you are interested, it can be found here. Cheers, hepi - Razor_109 - 2009-10-21 02:28 Some weeks ago i tried to install VDR, but since i'm fairly new to linux i failed. Managed to get around in linux but compiling VDR, Xine, etc, etc made me mess up my ubuntu config so i gave up ![]() Now i'm reading positive news about PPA's ready to install! Now i'm still a bit confused and was hoping one of you could advice me which package suits me best. I'm running and E8400 Core 2 Duo with and Technotrend DVB-C Budget C-1501 PCI-card. My goal to watch H264 HD-Channels (i1080) and SD channels which are both encrypted with irdeto 2. For that i would like to run a Cccam or NewCS cardserver. Currently i have got an working NewCS but i can also manage a Cccam solution. So, to conclude, which packages would allow me to use my DVB-C with softcam solution for xbmc? Ps. Maybe someone would like to write a new small tutorial describing the 'easy-method'. A small list of what to install in which order would be helpfull aswell, how to install i can figure out i guess. Thanks in advance! Razor - hepi - 2009-10-21 10:15 Hi, AFAIK none of the PPA owners from vdr-portal.de mentioned above are interested or willing to include SC-solutions in their repositories. (Please read my discussion with mirak earlier this year in this thread for further infos.) Cheers, hepi |
