are you in download or display mode ?
do you have allow icon selection enabled?

Do you have the setting "Use movie fanart for current background" enabled in the settings?

-- if your in display mode, it might not be releasing the old background image (in memory, not actually on disc)

- BroChaos - 2009-07-18

hey fekker. thanks for you help. i start up, hit load movies, filter for movies without backgrounds (since it only happens on my new movies that don't have one yet). i'm in download mode. i have the allow icon checked. if i switch to display, the same wrong background stays. if i hit refresh, it's still there. i'm running 2908.

honestly it's not a big deal, so if you can't think of anything off the top of your head don't worry bout it. i usually go through and pick my own anways.

Hey, could you add a button where it says All My Movies, Movies with Problems, Missing Backgound Image, etc...

Could you add a button to say "Missing Trailer"

It would help a lot.

- digitalhigh - 2009-07-18

Hey man, here's a good one. For TV shows, I sometimes add every episode of a particular show. In these instances, I just want it to grab everything for that particular show, and not have to scan every episode. Is there a way to implement this? Hell, maybe it already works and I don't realize it, but I still think it would be cool to have a way to skip loading every show every time you start the program, and just work on a specific show.

will look into it, shouldn't be an issue to add it

would this work?
add a text file named "noscan" (no extension) to the tv shows folder you don't want it to scan, that should make mip ignore it

Ok test build 2910 (download from site, extact contents of archive to install directory)

fixed label for movie.tbn / <moviename>.tbn.. depending on the gui theme it didn't display, also moved it to the top of the box

added cast info to gui, had to expand that portion out abit to fit the list and a thumbnail.. by default that section is closed, click on the arrow thinggy to expand it (it's with the other movie info)
-- note.. the images are loaded from imdb and not currently saved locally, so there's a delay when you click on the castmember until it shows the image

added filter by missing trailer option

Working perfectly now thanks again. ^_^
miptvupdate also seems to be running a hell of a lot faster now as well.

- BroChaos - 2009-07-18

ok i admit it, i'm confused now. i wiped out my MIP install folder, reinstalled, loaded my movies, went to DISPLAY mode, selected a movie that does not have an associated "-fanart.jpg" file, and it still has this slumdog millionaire fanart that shows up. it even shows up on the xbox.

can someone help me find out where this link is?

the only reference i see to fanart in the movie's nfo file is:
<fanart url="http://www.themoviedb.org/" />

/edit

for now i'm just creating my own black jpg file and setting it manually. should do the trick.

/edit again

found it!!!! fanart.jpg in the movies folder was the culprit!!

Got a problem and did a search but found nothing.. This might have been answered in this thread somewhere but to be honest reading through over 130 pages of stuff looking for one thing its easier just to repost.

I have just downloaded the latest version ( after a clean install ) and I have found with some tv shows I am getting an episode number like this

"s1e1:264"

For some reason on certain shows I am getting the number 264 at end of every show for that season. Why is this?

EDIT : just noticed it seems to be only with mkv files.

Do your filenames have x264 in them? Try renaming. :p
I had issues in xbmc with something similar where resolution was specified in the filename.

Yes I do. Never had this problem with previous release of MIP just the latest

- david81 - 2009-07-19

Hey there Fekker. Just installed the latest build with MIP update, 2902. Support for .ts files seems to have taken a step back. MIP wouldn't recognize the season/episode info until I changed the extension to .mpg.

Will one of the test builds take care of this? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere yet.

Thanks again for a great program!

MIP Crashes on TV Shows - frizat - 2009-07-19

Hey, I am trying to use MIP for my TV shows and i keep running into an issue. Movies work fine and i have been able to catalog all everything but TV shows.

MIP goes through all of my TV Show directories in the format C:\Media\TV Shows\Deadwood\Season 1\Deadwood - s01e01 - Pilot.avi no problem. It seems that when it's trying to load the shows to display in the front end i hit a snag!

Here is MIP's debug log. Any help is greatly appreciated; the scraper for XBMC is not working properly for me and it's driving me crazy!!

Code:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Looks like there might be a limit on the number of files/folders loaded. I've got everything organized: D:\Movies\Movie Title (YEAR) and it will only load 335 out of close to 500.
